Ok, first, did anyone receive any info about freshman orientation?

Also, is it not recommended to skip any courses in the Honors sequence? If so I'm going to take an automatic 8 credits as required by the UW Academy + 10 from Honors Calculus 134/135/136 and Honors Physics 121/122/123. That's 18 credits. 5 more would be 23 wow; don't know if I could do that though Erin Earl did. and she said that she was tired in an interview.

Also, I've heard that freshman have the last choice in choosing classes. When is this primarily a disadvantage? It won't be for most of the intro courses, full of freshmen either. So I think I'll get into the classes I choose.

depends on your major, if you are engineering, it will prob consist of calculus series, physics/chem, writing, and then some random vlpa and nw that you choose.

A lot of the "freshman classes" seem to be already filling up...how s that possible =/

And if you got more credits (i ll have about 80 by the time I enroll at UW from running-start) will you get bumped up over the guy who has less credits than you but registered earlier?

They don't allow everyone to register at the same time. Otherwise their servers would probably die. Freshman register the last, along with students who took off a quarter I think. We are Priority 2 registrars, currently enrolled students are priority 1.

As far as RS and credits, I think we will have a harder time to get classes we want (i am RS student too but I will only have 40 or so) since we have to register for the same classes as sophomores or juniors but since they are already registered or are registering now, then yeah- less selection. But after fall quarter, we should be able to register according to how many credits we have.

Register on your priority day.
Your priority is determined by your class (freshman, sophomore, etc.), which is determined by the number of credits you've completed plus the number of credits you're currently enrolled in at the UW.

Has anyone else gotten this e-mail for the UW and have you guys already sent your final transcripts in? I was told to hold on to my college transcripts until I finish my summer class but I guess I have to go back to my high school and have them send an official transcript.

We look forward to welcoming you to the University of Washington this fall!

Before you leave high school, however, remember to submit an official, final high school transcript to the UW Admissions Office after your final term (e.g., spring 2005) grades have been recorded on your transcripts. If you have also completed college coursework, you must also contact the college(s) to request official transcripts be sent directly to the UW. All transcripts should be submitted with a postmark date no later than July 1, 2005.

If you have not already made these arrangements, please ask your high school (and college, if applicable) to send these final transcripts to:

Office of Admissions

These records are required documents; please do not forget to follow up on this important step towards finalizing your enrollment at the UW.

Meh... advising was boring. I already knew everything that was said during the session (then again, I read the online student guide at washington.edu/students before the session).

yujin, is your name from the Yu Jin from the Three Kingdoms period of China? If not sorry - I kinda messed around.

Orientation was OK...pretty boring. I went in the end of June. Weather was incredible (compared to here in Houston). 75 degrees and clear skies until Tuesday, when some rain rolled in. I would have been suprised if I could stay in Seattle for 4 days and never see rain.

I'm taking 18 hours in the fall. My classes are Calc 124, Chem 142, HistAA 212 The Military History of the US, and Naval Science 111 The Naval Service. I'm in Naval ROTC on the 4 year scholarship, so I have to take a Naval Science course every quarter.

All in all, it was a good experience. I'm looking forward to Sept. 28.

W00t!! 30 credits from AP exams! Best of all, I never even took the corresponding courses nor did I spend much effort on self-study.

Chem 142, Chem 152, Math 124, Math 125, Hist 100 (or whatever the world history course is called), Hist 113
I'm going to be a sophomore next quarter as I'm taking 18 credits!
