<p>Hey, I have a question about scholarships awarded to students in a particular area. I've heard that the 3 people from my high school (graduated in 08) going to UM recieved a scholarship for $10,000/yr..Supposedly it was for living in a certain area.(St.Clair County)</p>
<p>I searched around for this and only found scholarships for people from Detroit...Does anyone know anything about this or am I just hearing a bunch of BS??</p>
<p>There could very well be scholarships awarded to people from certain areas because they want to have students from all over the country. I doubt there is a specific scholarship for your area though, just maybe scholarships for underrepresented areas in general.</p>
<p>I believe you’re referring to the Michigan Tradition Scholarship. 10k/year for 4 years…I received it recently too</p>

<p>Well so much for me getting anything like that, like 90% of the students in my school who apply get into U of M -_-</p>
<p>Yeah, I got really lucky cause I live right on the border of Ohio and a vast majority of students from my school (like 90%) either go to Monroe or University of Toledo.</p>
<p>Well I really hope ill get this scholarship…I know the people before me that got it didn’t have as good of stats as me, so if they’re still offering it in my area, I should get it.</p>
