Im down to my last 15 credits before i graduate and i have to take 3 physical science credits. Im obviously not trying to take anything hard like physics or chemistry. So the question is geology or astronomy? Which one is easier. NOT more interesting, i have no problem showing up to a boring class. Im looking for easy to pass/understand/study etc. Votes?? Thanks!!
Both classes can be easy or difficult – it depends on the professor.
It depends on how it’s taught, exactly.
Maybe geology people are funnier . . . . ? http://whatisgeology.â– â– â– â– â– â– â– â– â– â– /
Both of those will be easier (in my opinion) than the heavy sciences like physics, bio, chem, etc. If you’re trying to get an easy A I would go to ratemyprofessor.com, look at professor for both, and pick the one it seems like you could do the best with.
I haven’t taken either, as I’m going to take the heavy sciences, but my friend took physical geography at a community college and found it fairly easy, primarily because the professor made it so.
I would think astronomy would be fairly easy if you’re good at memorizing details about planets, comets, the atmosphere, telescopes, galaxies, etc.
Warning: astronomy taught at the college level typically involves lots of math and is often offered through the physics department. It has caught many students off guard when they assume it will be about memorizing constellations and star gazing. I’m not sure how it would be “easier” than biology, physics, chemistry, geology, etc.
Great point @WildLupine , I didn’t think of that since math is my focus.
This really depends on the college. My school offers two intro geology courses. One of them is the stereotypical “Rocks for Jocks” type course while the other is a much more demanding intro class only open to those looking to go into a major which heavily relies on the geosciences.
