Just starting this thread for anyone who is interested. My D auditioned 11/9/19 and the program is now in her top two! There were approximately 46 auditioning and they acted as though that was a large amount. They take approx. 20 new freshmen sounded like rolling admissions process. They told dancers they would be notified within 2 weeks.
My D was accepted thru dancewave. Waiting on academic acceptance… We don’t know much about the program and are schedule to go in January to see. She liked what they had to say at dancewave and is excited to learn more about it.
I’m glad she liked it! My D is a freshman there and I am very impressed with the program. It’s small so the professors really get to know the students.
My DD was accepted through dancewave but is not applying. DD said she knows way too many students there and it would feel like being at high school lol.
She had attended a summer dance conservatory there when she was in the 9th grade. She did like the summer dance program, and the instructors , and the end show was very good.
We just received a letter that my d is waitlisted. She is disappointed, but I assured her that this is not terrible news! Wondering if anyone who has applied in the past has experience with the waitlist? It definitely is top 3 of her choices… so we are trying to figure out the best next step! Letter states that they evaluate waitlisted students starting in Feb.
I can see in informed delivery that D has a GM letter coming today too. I feel ill.
It’s early in the decision process and it’s very common for them to waitlist dancers until they see all of the auditions. Try to stay positive!
DD was waitlisted too. At least it was not a no!
That is what I told my daughter! She received an email this week that she should apply to the honors college. I told her to do it and what will happen will happen. I think they only selected a handful and then will see who will accept… then will move to the waitlist! So hopefully…
I was looking at this school but the audition date of Feb 15 conflicts with several others - hard to decide where to go - when I read that each student has to attend a performance every semester and write a paper on it, I decided that’s not for my daughter. She would hate that, so it’s off of our list. Good luck to your girls! @elmom25 and @emilyhuntnelson
