I am so excited–just heard that George Mason University is currently creating a BFA in MT which should be in place by the Fall of 2016! State school, great music and theatre departments, just outside DC, not too far from home (but far enough for D!), I am just so pumped and wanted to share!

GMU is good about offering new degree programs in hot fields- they just added a cybersecurity major for undergrads. There’s a huge demand for cybersecurity skills right now so that was a very smart move. GMU is great for arts & theater, too- in fact I’m going to a show at the Center for the Arts tonight.
Hi…son got admitted to GMU and will start in fall. Can anyone on here pass along any tips about the first semester? Do’s and Don’t’s sort of thing…anything you could pass along would be greatly appreciated!
@mspamela Does GMU already offer a BA in MT? Do they have a good theater department?
@Joyfulmama they do not currently offer a MT degree at all. They do have a concentration in MT as a part of the BA in Theatre degree though. We really liked the people and the program on our visit. Definitely have it on our list!!
@mspamela Thank you! My D would be entering Fall 2016 which is what you indicated for the BFA II will research it today!
