George Mason University — Transfer student with 3.6 GPA

I'm currently a student at Central Virginia Community College and taking prerequisites classes for computer science degree at Mason. I want to transfer to GMU as a pre-computer science student because I have not taken the required computer science class yet. In fact, my community college does not teach that class. Therefore, I have to take it at Mason (if I get in).

I'm in the PTK honor society
Credits: 44
GPA: 3.6

Do you think I have a chance at GMU? The only thing I'm worrying right now is a B in calculus 1 class. Will that affect me?

Have you had a look at their Guaranteed Transfer Agreement? For UVA you have to have a 3.5 so I think it’s less for GMU. You are a great student and I’m sure they’ll be happy to have you. One B is not going to kill your chances. Good luck!
