For business GMU might be a great pick (like what blueiguana said) I remember when I toured the school my senior year they talked A LOT about the easy access to great internships in DC. I don’t really know much about business at CNU/VCU.

Probably repeating the same thing that everyone else is saying but coming from someone who has a lot of friends going to all three of these schools:

GMU: Northern Virginia. The environment is extremely different from the other two. You’re right next to DC. If you want to go into anything that has anything to do with DC (ex. business, politics, economics, etc.) then this is the place. And well, there’s also an awesome shopping center nearby, if you’re into that. Strangely I don’t think the other two really have that. The area in general is really convenient. It’s in the suburbs, but more on the urban side of suburbs.

VCU: Medical kids. Lots. Everyone I know going there is going there for something health related. The environment isn’t the best. Richmond isn’t exactly the best city in the world. It’s not like you’re in any imminent danger, it’s just that there are a few places you’ll need to stay out of. Though since you’re from NY this will probably be no problem for you. This campus is hands down the most urban.

CNU: Total LAC. Bright, pretty campus, near the beach. A lot of people absolutely love the campus. Unlike the other two, it’s a lot more, I guess you could say “removed.” It’s a little more on the rural side. But with a slight beachy feel. Quite honestly I feel that this is a little lower tier compared to the other two. But the campus environment itself is what really wins people over. Oh, and it’s pretty small too I believe. Freshman class is only like 1,300 people.

I would say it depends on your major.

Liberal arts or economics choose GMU first and CNU second
Sciences or technology choose ODU
Arts or medical related stuff choose VCU

GMU is large, CNU is a much smaller place. They’ve only had dorms about 15 years or so. GMU is in suburban DC, VCU in downtown Richmond, ODU near downtown Norfolk and CNU is in Newport News. Overall I would rate them in order of GMU ODU VCU CNU.
