My daughter applied EDll this year. Applied to the honors program Political Science major. She has 30 ACT and 4.2 GPA. Several leadership roles and 3 varsity sports. Any input on her chances for admission and merit aid? We will most likely not qualify for financial aid. For applying ED mean she will. It be considered for merit scholarships? TIA
Admission she is probably good. I would not count on the merit aid since it is merit based, you may get a little bit but I know plenty of people who did not qualify for financial aid and received little merit aid, then again you really never know.
Admissions-wise her chances are solid. As far as merit aid, I think that’ll depend on more factors than what we can judge (especially for me, being pretty dumb on financial aid). While a 4.2 is a great GPA, I think it’ll also depend on the difficulty of those classes and anything else she’s done to put her at the head of the pack.
