Why does my status check still stays “UNDER REVIEW”!!! =(

If you turned in your materials late they still might be reviewing it.

But I received that e-mail about 6pm decision…im so sad…

I had all the materials in last month and double checked with admissions two weeks ago!! argg…

I have wait until this long 3day weekend for the official answer.

But Congratulations to all those accepted!

Hi wait234! I’m in the same boat. My application status still reads “under review.” I also confirmed the status of my application with the admissions department and my app has been complete for a month or so now.

I have checked just now. They are early :)

Accepted
Accounting Major
International Transfer
Transfer from Iowa
Country: Hong Kong

I am still thinking if I should go to George Washington or Rochester.The only thing holding me back is the expensive rent over there. I get $7500 at washington and $5000 at rochester :/

Hello CSilverm! I was just freaking out because I thought I was the only person with this problem. Let us stay optimistic about our decisions. Enjoy the weekend!

I’m surprised they had so many transfer applicants. 2340 is quite a lot of people to consider (Georgetown had like 1900), so don’t think too much into it if you’re one of the people who hasn’t received a decision yet.

@jayfromla how do you know how many applicants they got?

@jayfromla how do you know how many transfer applications they recieved?

@yankee13 and @ellomeno

it said 2340 applicants in the letter for those of us that are waitlisted

even more excited !!!
The 2340 number was cited in the waitlist letter.
Any other waitlistees out there?
I’m on three waitlists now: Columbia, Claremont McKenna, and now GWU. It’s going to be an interesting summer.

@jayfromla

im on the waitlist too, i applied to Elliott, how about you? How are you dealing with all those waitlists, are you going to deposit somewhere until you hear back? July seems so far away, but i’m still waiting to hear back on one other school

@gref2528

I applied to Elliot as well. So far, I haven’t been admitted anywhere, so I might inevitably be waiting it out all summer until (hopefully) one of them does offer me admission. If it comes down to having to remain where I am currently, I’d be fine with that, as my current school is great (and free) and my grades haven’t deviated from a 4.0.

Worst case scenario, I’ll just reapply for spring admission where there’s fewer applicants and relatively less waiting involved.

Where else are you waiting to hear back? I’m still waiting for Georgetown and Northwestern.

Im waitlisted also. I intend to fight for my spot. Im trying to get into the elliot school as junior.

@jayfromla i’m waiting to hear back from Emory. (well Maryland too but I kind of forgot about that and don’t want to go there that much). But yeah if I don’t get into either I will probably be returning to my old school. There are worse things I suppose.

and @Katz101…i applied to Elliott as a junior too. Bummed that we have to wait even longer now. It seems like many of those wait listed applied to Elliott. Good luck to us all!

Congrats to everyone who has been accepted! I was accepted to the Elliot School of International Affairs. Here are some stats:
~3.7 GPA
~Phi Alpha Theta (History Honor Society)
~Political Science Scholar

So I cannot even think my mind is rushing

how does housing work?
how much is the deposit fee?

etc… if anyone knows tha would be great

i heard the deposit fee is $800

Does anyone know if there’s a facebook group for fall 2011 transfers? I tried looking, but my computer’s funky and doesn’t always load pages properly :/

ellomeno- so happy you got in, especially after we slogged it out in the Barnard forum.

And, like isharmie said, I’m pretty sure the deposit is $800, which seems steep, since most other schools have deposit fees of $400 or $500.

I have no idea how housing works, but gosh, the dorms are amazing. I don’t really care if I get last pick in housing – all the dorms look fantastic. (If anyone hasn’t seen the dorms, you can see floorplans here: [Living @ GW - The George Washington University](http://living.gwu.edu/halls))
