@isharmie Have they received your final transcripts!

@yankee13–yea they have my high school and college transcript and i think my spring grades were just sent out to them recently.

Mine is still the same too.

For those who received emails asking for Spring Grades, are you guys/gals sophomore or junior transfers?

Isharmie and Me are both transfers hopefully entering for fall sophomore year.

I am hopefully going to be a sophomore transfer as well, gawd I hope I get into GW that would be the best thin ever!!!
I wish we would find out by Monday already

How many transfers does GWU typically accept and out of how many candidates?

this is getting annoying…I have sent my Student officials report THREE times and they never got it…just faxed it again on monday and they still claim they have not gotten it. this sucks. Yes… how many people (transfers) usually get into GW?

US News (most recent from 2009:

Transfer students applying for Fall 2009 2,436
Transfer students accepted for Fall 2009 540

22%

Wouldn’t be suprised if rates are little lower for this year.

i applied to the business school, do you guys think i’ll get in with a 3.4gpa and a 3.9 on my mid-year report?

its possible if you have great ECs!

No one knows, we all have to wait til the 25th (hopefully)

GW is really my last shot, hopefully I get in… If not oh well I will be staying in California unfortunately

gaah I love GW (From the area) but I just couldn’t keep waiting, and had to put a deposit on an apartment - awh well, Here’s to Miami!

@ amandarin did you tell gw to withdraw your application? & nice congrats on miami umiami?

All the colleges I applied to are private, so expensive. Do you guys think it’s worth it? To pay private tuition compared to state tuition?
Think about all that money you could be saving and be spending it else where.

There’s this phrase that keeps holding me back: “if you work hard you’ll succeed wherever you go to college”

@xhongxkongx-- i dont think there is much of a difference, though some people may say otherwise. unless you get a lot of financial aid, you’re probably going to end up with a lot of loans. are you planning on pursuing further education (med/law school)? because for those schools youre going to probably have to take out loans no matter what kind of school you go to, so you might want to apply to some public schools just to spend less on undergrad.

@ellemeno I did lol and yep u miami

@isharmie - GWU is superior to the state school i come from ranking wise, reputation wise, as well as the resources it has to offer. Even the location is better since there will be more opportunities for internships. I will definitely take out a lot of loans since the tutition for GWU is so high. I plan on pursing for mba after working 2-5years after undergrad, or maybe law school. Still unsure about that as of right now.

For these past two years I’ve been so set on transferring to a better university but my gpa was not consistent therefore I am stuck with the options I have now. (the schools like gwu are good but not good like ivy league so is it worth the money?)

@xhongxkongx–well, being someone who wants to go to med school afterwards, im hoping that not only do i get into gw, but that i also get a lot of financial aid so that i dont have to take out loans. gw is one the most expensive schools in the country, even more so than some ivy leagues, so i would probably not attend if i have to take out too many loans since im going to have to anyways for med school. if youre planning on doing any professional school, its prob best not to spend too much on undergrad. ive heard a lot of ppl complain about the costs versus the quality of education (those who are students) and there are some people that i know who graduated from gw a while back that are still paying off their student loans. oh and it ultimately depends on what you want to do! for example, if you are looking at the elliot school of international affairs, then gw is worth the money!
