Hi, I am a high school sophomore interested in becoming a doctor in the future. Two schools that I am interested in are George Washington University and Boston University (I really like the location of both schools). I noticed that they both have a very similar seven year liberal arts/medical program, and I was wondering the pros and cons of each one. Also I am dual-enrolled, and I plan on having my A.A. when I graduate high school. Will I still be eligible for the program if I already have my A.A.?

You need to post your question in the pre-med form. I don’t think have an AAA will be a problem, but they may not li want you to take your premed pre-racks at a community college so check for that.

That said, you are only a sophomore. Many things can change between now and the time you apply to colleges. Don’t concentrate too much on combined BS/MD programs. They are extremely hard to get into. These combo programs expect students to have extremely high stats, because they are trusting that the student will get through the program and would have been accepted to med school if he had gone the traditional route

And reducing college by a year is not always a pleasant experience. You miss out on a lot of college experience.

Well, another thing that GW has going for it is an early-acceptance program for med school. You can apply to the program after your sophomore year (I believe) and if accepted, you have a lot more leniency in programs of study during your last two years. This isn’t exactly something that will get you into med school early, but it’s a really neat program that a really good friend of mine took advantage of. This way, instead of freaking-out/cramming like all the other students trying to study for the MCAT and getting into med school, you’re enjoying the best (last) two years of your undergrad before you put yourself through the hell that is med school, haha.
