[ *] Major Awards (USAMO, Intel, NMSF etc.): AP Scholor with Honor (does that count?), Gold on National Latin Exam, Piano certificates (2 distinctions) from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (but only Grade 2,3,4 so I don’t think they hold that much weight, or if they’re even major awards)

[ /list][ b]Reflection
[list]
[ *] Strengths: Maybe my essays? Probably my international experience, especially as I applied for INTL Health. I have read all the people’s stats who got deferred and I can’t see anything I have that’s any better than theirs!
[ *] Weaknesses: ECs, test scores
[ ] Why you think you were accepted/deferred/denied: I think maybe they saw my growth over the last four years, not necessarily in academics/ECs, but going from small-town Midwest to London has really broadened my views and given me a lot of insight that I don’t think I ever would have had
[ ] Where else are you applying: Columbia, Dartmouth, Amherst, Centre, WashU, Davidson, a few more…
[ /list][ b]General Comments:
I really can’t describe how shocked I am! I don’t feel like I am deserving of it compared to all the other amazing people on here! Good luck to everyone who hasn’t heard yet or who got deferred, because I think (or at least I hope so much!) that we will all end up where we are meant to!

oh, and I probably got in because I’m international (not born in America), if that helps…

Reflection
Strengths: ACT, essays, recs, interview
Weaknesses: SAT IIs!!! → not my best
Why you think you were accepted/deferred/denied: I think my essays really brought to light everything that I was trying to show in in my resume as well. I think it really tied everything together well. However, I think my SFS essay was also very unique as not a lot of people probably focus on South America. Most focus on the Middle East and general problems in the world. I think this gave me a leg up!
Where else are you applying: University of Texas, Notre Dame, UVA, Boston College, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, WashU, Northwestern.
General Comments: First, I just want to say…AHHHHHHHHHH WE DID IT!!! I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING!!! Ok. Now that my I just relieved all my excitement, I will have a hard decision to make down the road because I have been accepted to other very prestigious institutions as well. But SFS is so completely unique, that I will probably HAVE to go here. If you are interested at all in International Affairs, this is the place for you! And it definitely is for me too! It was a very rigorous process, but just keep working hard and the payoff is definitely worth it! Good luck to all who were deferred or still haven’t applied. EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON AND YOU WILL END UP WHERE YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE!
