I live in central MA… My mail usually comes around 4:30/5:00. Ugh… the wait is killing me.

Accepted to College!! From Southern Ohio (Dayton Area) and I received my letter in the mail today. So unbelievably excited and surprised!

i live in southeastern MA close to Providence and i didnt get my letter… im really stressing right now

congrats skyhawk! is georgetown your #1?

@crose don’t stress! try meditating or drinking tea or reading! thinking about the letter will only make things 94870294 times worse. keep calm and study on (so cheesy)

As of now, yes but I can’t think of anywhere else I’d rather be. I think that 40% of the decision comes down to money and how much I can get in scholarships/aid. You?

@neontissues thanks ill try the meditating and tea. hopefully tomorrow afternoon will go by quickly

Anyone from NC get their letters? I live in central NC and nothing has come in the mail from Georgetown yet.

@sky Georgetown is tied for #1, and finaid will basically determine if I get to go there or not. But since they meet 100% of need, I think it’ll be a realistic option. If i get into UChicago though, it’ll be a reallllly tough choice, but one I’d love to make!

I got deferred from SFS. I’m actually not that upset. Which is really surprising.

@neontissues I’m in the exact same boat! If I’m lucky enough for Columbia to accept me then I may have to make a hard decision, but I’m completely okay with it. It’s realistic but I’m so severely middle class that I’m rich enough to not get much money but poor enough that my parents are only able to contribute a small amount.

@impressionistic seriously?! Wow I’m really surprised at that considering your stats. What do you think was your app’s weak spot?

@sky yea, my family is below middle class so I’m basically set for receiving a ton of aid, thank goodness. However, that makes paying for the leftover few thousands still really difficult.

@neontissues can I just say that you have the BEST attitude I have seen on CC? thank you so much for the positivity and the words of encouragement. Your words have definitely helped me avoid a severe level of disappointment. :)

Deferred from SFS. Considering my UW GPA of 3.7, it was honestly a tossup. I thought I had strong essays, recs, ECs, and SAT scores though. Oh well.

Should I send Georgetown a letter of intent or something like that? Anything that helps? If so when?

Good luck everyone and don’t be too nervous about your letters! I’m a freshman at Georgetown right now and we’re actually doing congratulation calls starting today through the 19th, so you may even find out before the mail reaches your house :)

My essays weren’t my best. I’m President or Co-President of 4 of my 5 clubs and even though I’m legitimately running all of them and really involved, I’m afraid it looked like I was padding my resume. Also I’m not sure if they looked at my ACT score because I took it as a senior, not as a junior. I’m not the most desirable candidate in terms of demographics either but I can’t really blame that for deferral, since that’s more commonplace at GTown. And I second LunaHoyaGold’s comment. :)

@luna thank you! That means a lot to me! I like trying to bring people as much happiness as possible. I know you were really anxious over your GU decision, especially with your friend receiving an over abundance of contact and whatnot, but fret not! There are more awesome schools out there. :)

@impressionistic that’s weird, I sent my SAT scores from October and they obviously considered them…I think what helped me were that my essays were super focused (even though I wrote them all in one night) and showed off my determination and the adversity I’ve faced. Demographically, a female Asian from an over represented state (MA) at a good public school is as about as least diverse as it gets. I wish you luck on your UChicago decision though! I feel like all CCers have pretty padded resumes; whether that is intentional or not is difficult to discern.

congrats @neontissues!!!

Still no letter in Northern New Jersey… Honestly the wait is killing me. The other person from my school who applied was deferred. I expect to be deferred, but like most people with reach schools, I have that tiny inkling of hope and it’s driving me nuts. Really, really hoping for the result tomorrow.

Good luck to you too with UChicago neontissues!

Accepted MSB! I got my letter about 2 hours ago. I’m from Chicago.
