Georgetown Class of 2018 (HS Class of 2014)

@bullybreedheart I’d love to find that out, too.
@StandardizedAce That’s what I was questioning, too.

The US decisions were mailed Yesterday for Georgetown. All the best… You will get it in next few days… Being a weekend will make everyone nervous…

Hi everyone!! Got my accepted to the MSB today in Maryland around 45 min out of dc! SO EXCITED!!!

@head2college2018 Congrats!

I’m really hoping to get the decision before Sunday, but if that’s feasible. (I live in VT/NH/ME area.) Bad news or good news, it will wrap up the whole college app process.

Pretty much holding out hope on GU. Rejected @ Emory, Waitlisted at Colgate and U of MN.I have nothing against the schools I got into but they are way to close to where I am now. I dread another 4 years of high school.

Hey all, I’m from Seattle. Georgetown’s been one of my top choices all the way around and I hope I get the honor of attending MSB. I was rejected from all of my Ivy League schools (except waitlisted at Dartmouth), waitlisted Chicago, rejected Duke, waitlisted NYU, and rejected Berkeley. My hope for G’Town is relatively low :confused: If not it’ll cost me an arm and a leg to go to UCLA or WUSTL (I dunno how I got into UCLA and WUSTL but not NYU, Berkeley and at least one of those others…)

^I feel you @slamdunkz2496 I got waitlisted at NYU Stern and BC Carroll

Got emailed the decision 20 mins ago

Rejected from McDonough School of Business

1950 SAT, no SAT 2s

Great EC’s and essays

Perfect recommendations imo

41/45 IB predicted

Very high upward trending GPA, started grade 9 and 10 rough (A’s, B’s, couple C’s) but did amazingly well for grade 11 and 12 in the IB program

Too bad

I got deferred from EA

Wasn’t expecting an acceptance at all

I aint even mad, accepted at NYU Stern and BU SMG :)

@DesperatePal Hey you still got into college, which is an accomplishment! Some people I know have not been accepted anywhere…yet. 3 Subject tests were just ‘recommended’ so I’m sure you can still get in, crossing my fingers for the both of us!

@closetohome1 College admissions this year doesn’t even make sense. 2018 seems absolutely brutal in terms of top college acceptances - at least that’s how it seems in the state of Washington. I’m so confused about NYU Stern from looking at other people’s stats. Nevertheless, we can both cross our fingers for G’town I suppose. Best of luck to everyone!

@head2college2018 did they use first-class or priority mail? Congratulations!!

@closetohome1 i have the same feeling. My S also got rejected from NYU this morning and i thought he had great match there. oh well !! hoping for Gtown now. It has been very brutal.

Nothing in Illinois today, hoping for tomorrow but going to be leaving in the morning to visit my 2nd choice college and wont be able to check until late tomorrow. Ugh gonna be stressing alot about this.

@IBDiplomaVictim you were emailed? I thought they sent letters via snail mail?

@soneshidae MAybe he/she’s an international?

@soneshidae @DesperatePal he/she is.

I’m not sure if it was priority…but I could tell by the thickness of the envelope (3 sheets, one is green) so the trip up from my driveway was so nerve wracking!!

My son was deferred EA and then waitlisted today. A thick envelope can also mean waitlisted (still 3 sheets of paper - but no green sheet).

hmm Since the number dropped for Georgetown, I’m wondering if it’s worth it to remain on the wait list. I was waitlisted for SFS. Oh and also for internationals, would applying for FA hurt your chance? For waitlist, I heard some schools do look at financial situations…

@head2college2018 how big was the envelope? dimensions? reg letter sized (4x9)or larger?
