Hey just a few questions for someone working on part II:
How long should my two essays be?
Secondary school report is just transcript right?
Teacher report is just a letter of rec right?
Do we submit only one letter of rec?
applying to sfs by the way.

UW GPA: 3.7
W GPA: 4.0

AP: AP Comp. (5) AP Euro. (4) AP U.S. (4)

Rank: 66/366

Served as US Senate Page and awarded citizenship award there. I am about to become an eagle scout and am currently the editor of the school newspaper.

ACT: 31

Does the Walsh School essay have a specific word count? From what I got from the application, it’s supposed to be “brief”, although I’m not sure if their definition of brief means ~500 words, or around 2 pages. Also, do they want sources, or do they just assume we’ve gotten the information from our readings and/or background knowledge? Most of what I’m putting in comes from information I’ve picked up over the years, but there are some things I feel would usually require sourcing.

My SFS essay last year was 521 words and it was one giant paragraph with no sources listed.

Pair2008, I was a US Senate Page too! What session were you?

For the creative essay would it be appropriate to my common app essay? I wrote the environment essay. I feel that it is well written and describes me so perfectly so I’m afraid any other essay I try to write won’t match up. Would it look bad to just reuse it? I think it’s pretty easy to tell that it was not originally written just because of the topic…

I wouldn’t use my CA essay for Georgetown, there’s obviously a reason they have their own application.

I just took my French SAT II and currently have Gtown as one of my free sends. I only answered 57/85 questions, so my score will likely be in the low 600s. Is that (for lack of a better term) okay? Will SFS hate me for not having a higher score? It won’t even matter unless I’m deferred to RD, but I’m concerned nonetheless.

I sent my Japanese score of 610.

And I used my Common App essay for the creative essay.

CSIHSIS, if you don’t mind my asking, did you write your Common App essay for the now-eliminated topic of your own choice prompt or for one of the specific prompts?

Just had my interview today. Turns out the alum just graduated and I was her first interview. It went extremely well, really laid-back and conversational. Really pleased :)

I still haven’t been contacted for an interview …and I finished Parts I and II in August.

Maybe it depends on your location?

They’re just starting the interview process and if you’re RD you’re low priority ATM.

For the Applicant Profile, there are four spaces to list testing, but I need five (two SATs, two SAT IIs, and an ACT). I want to send them only my ACT score and my subject tests, but since they’ll be receiving all my SAT testing history, I thought I should list it. If I don’t list the SAT I dates, then is that how they know that’s not what I want them looking at?

I think you should be fine. The deadline to submit everything isn’t for awhile.

How is Georgetown’s music arts programs? I plan to do a minor in music.

Hi eveyone. I am an international student and I have no one else to ask this really dumb question: I accidentally I opened a transfer form with my applyweb account but I didn’t submit it. I just want to submit the early action stuff and I have submitted form one. Is there any way I can delete a form on ApplyWeb? Or is it inconsequential for me to have that form on my account because I haven’t submitted it?

I had my Georgetown interview today. The guy was very nice. A really laid-back interview. I got the impression that he was only trying to add to my application, not take away.

had my interview yesterday! he asked the typical “why Georgetown” asked about my extra currics and classes, what my favorite classes were, and about my favorite teacher at school. He also asked about a strength and weakness, but overall it was very casual and went by pretty quickly (only about 25 minutes)!
