My advice is to not put any stock into the interviews at all.

Could you please help me with my application?

What do you think changed that helped you get in RD and nor EA?

does anyone know if there is a way to tell if GU received your test scores? I know the applyweb shows if the recommendations are in, but is there anything for test scores?

^ I’ve been wondering that as well. Also, my guidance counselor is submitting everything by mail. Will the applyweb still show that they have received the materials, or would I have to contact admissions?

They’d rather you not annoy them by calling and asking if everything got there. If they don’t contact you, it got there.

I have just submitted my application folks. I have one question that is killing me though. I copy pasted my essays in those boxes and it didn’t give me any space so I punched the space key a few times myself. So it looked like:

The end of my paragraph: lhlsglalglalgalglalgalglalglaglalglalgalglalgalga

Beginning of my other paragraph: gkskgksgkskhkshkskgksgkskgskgkskgskgks
(A space in between)

When I pressed submit, the end result had way more space in between the paragraphs than I have intended it to. Am I the only one? Please, I need to know.

It looked like there were 3 blank lines between the paragraphs.

Not as pretty as one would like but it will have to do.

Thankfully my essays were all single paragraphs.

But at least it wasn’t our fault? What I mean to say is, I guess it is the application’s own format that kind of gives those blanks. Also there was no preview application button as in the Commonapp right? We couldn’t check how they actually looked before submitting.

Is there no preview on Georgetown’s App? I was hoping there was…

DD’s application went in last night. Good luck everyone!

This is probably really horrible to ask, but the deadline is Friday night at MIDNIGHT eastern standard time right?! Because if it’s not I am in a horrible situation. Does anyone know definitively?

Yes, you can submit any time tomorrow.

Can anyone please help me out?? I’m not sure if it has already been discussed, but I was wondering if the one page essays are single or double spaced? Thanks so much!

Well, I’m finally done and submitted, thankfully. The deadline is definitely on the 1st at 11:59 though, right? I saw another post saying it had to be in by that time on the 31st, and being on Central Time, I turned it in 45 minutes after that. I didn’t see said post until after submitting. I’m still fine for EA, right?

DS’14 just had his alumnus interview - interviewer asked a lot of basic questions about ECs, etc. Near the end there was a more meaningful conversation. No big deal. Thought it went fine. Best of luck to all! Go hoyas!

OMG YESSSSS!!!

“Early Action Update. While Georgetown’s deadline for Early Action applicants is Friday, November 1, 2013, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions will continue to accept application materials through the weekend. In light of the challenges students have faced with the Common Application this year, we want to provide some flexibility to ensure your application is complete for review. Similarly, we will continue to accept supporting credentials from secondary school counselors and teachers through next week. Counselors and teachers are reminded that all materials can be submitted electronically through Georgetown’s College Net application portal.”

That would have been nice to know before I called my teacher begging for her to upload my rec letter while in front of her class and the substitute teacher lol

@Cal …hahaha don’t worry I did the almost the exact same thing…except my guidance counselor called my teacher and begged him for me…and I bugged him about it after school via text message.

I’m just glad I don’t have to rush (as much) on my Georgetown College essay now.
