***GEORGETOWN CLASS OF 2021 APPLICANT THREAD***

This is going to sound very stupid but …
I accidentally applied early action for one part of my application, which I started over the summer when I was planning on applying early action. Since then I have decided to apply regular Decision since I am applying early Decision to Columbia. I emailed Georgetown a long time ago to change this, and emailed multiple different addresses and have not heard back. Any ideas of what to do? I also think I have made two applications, one early and one regular, forgetting that I ever saved the early one over the summer.

I don’t want this to ruin my chances of getting accepted since it is still one of my top schools but I’m not sure what to do

As long as your LAST application (the third part that is actually called the supplement) indicated RD you are all set. That one trumps the other first two parts and that’s what they go with. You should of course call and hear this with your own ears (you probably can ask anonymously if you want), but you should be fine. My daughter did it the other way around and decided NOT to go ED somewhere else because Georgetown is her first choice and when she called they told her that whatever the last (third, supplement) part says it what they will go by!

Georgetown is by far my most selective school and only reach. Getting anxious as decisions get closer!

Is this the main Georgetown EA thread for class of 2021? Just want to make sure there isn’t a thread we are missing! Thanks!

@collegemomjam Think this is the most active one! It’s the one I came to during my EA application process.

Where else are you guys applying?

@grinnellephant01 Villanova, Boston College, Northeastern, NYU, GW, Bentley, Binghamton in that order with Georgetown at #1.

@grinnellephant01 Barnard, Brown, CMC, Dickinson, Elon, Lafayette, Lewis&Clark, middlebury, Occidental, Scripps, Stanford, Vassar, Swarthmore and William&Mary.

Clemson (safety school, accepted), Trinity College Dublin (accepted), UChicago, Northwestern, UVA, William and Mary, Pomona, and Dartmouth. I don’t seem to understand the concept of having a balance between safety schools and reach schools :!!

I’m applying to Columbia, NYU, UC Berkeley, Stanford, American (safety), Emory, Boston U, Northeastern, and Uchicago
Hhahah, can you tell I like big cities?

@1zogden1 Lol we have several of the same schools. I have Georgetown, BC, Lehigh, Villanova, Northeastern, OSU, PSU, Pitt

@grinnellephant01 Chapel Hill, Notre Dame, William and Mary, Davidson, Wake Forest. For the ivies, my parents want me to apply to Brown, Princeton and UPenn although I hold no hope of getting in there haha

I applied to UVA and Fordham EA. I’m applying to more RD–William and Mary, Harvard, Princeton, Dartmouth, Middlebury, Vassar, Williams, Kenyon, University of Richmond… my list seems very different from a lot of yours!

I’m probably the most different of all… Most of my schools are safeties in terms of admissions chances.

You can’t be rejected for EA at Georgetown.

Yes, you’re right! That’s a mistake. @luvquizbowl

Hey guys, I’m planning to apply RD to Georgetown. I really want to go for public policy, but Georgetown only has that as a grad program. What do you guys think is the closest undergrad program to public policy???

i would say government is the closest undergrad major!
