It is out. My son said he had to “find” it
they sent me an email (that ended up in my spam by accident) with a link to a separate fin aid portal at about 1:50 pm PST/4:50 EST…for some reason the admitted student portal isn’t where they post aid
Has anyone not gotten their financial aid yet?
The mail goes to spam and the financial aid result is in the portal. We got it.
Same for us. Email went to spam.
Hmm I haven’t gotten anything yet but thank you!
Typically if a student gets admitted off the waitlist, I suppose we should assume no merit aid?
Unfortunately, I would say that is correct. It would be highly unlikely especially given the depth of the WL this year.
But you can still get need based aid off the waitlist right?
Definitely. Merit aid is not the same thing as need based aid.
Thank u sorry I’m head empty when it comes to financial aid
Does Georgetown give merit? I thought they were solely need-based aid.
They do not. They give no academic or merit aid. I’m sorry for any confusion. GT financial aid is based solely on demonstrated need - and what does that mean in today’s world?!
For those of you who have received your financial aid packages from Georgetown, how did that compare to any other schools that meet demonstrated need?
I found the package to be extremely generous and it’s a major factor in making the decision. Compared to the other 5-6 that have sent FA package, Georgetown has been extremely fair.
Fr they gave me my aid and I’m only paying 1.5k a year
Georgetown calculated my EFC to be around $11K larger than 4 other demonstrated need schools did, which I did not expect, since one of those 4 schools is notorious for being stingy with aid. This leaves me at ~32K / yr after work-study & loans.
However, my family situation is known to throw off NPCs, so I may just be a weird anomaly.
Follow up. Ivy day was brutal! Accepted brown and Cornell. Waitlisted Dartmouth and Penn rejected everywhere else!
that doesn’t really sound too brutal. Congrats on your acceptances
What are you thinking between the three of Brown Cornell and Georgetown (or any others you got into)
