For anyone from Georgetown U, how would you describe the campus culture? Is it more liberal or conservative? Are there any problems with drugs, sexual harassment, out-of-control partying, etc? Would particular groups feel unwelcome or unsafe there?
I don’t think that there is any college that wouldn’t occasionally have problems with one or more of the above- and not that many that would have serious problems with all of the above. But no, those are not features of the Georgetown experience. (there is a solid amount of partying- just not particularly out of control partying. Georgetown is a small campus, the neighborhood around it is small & wealthy- any out of control partying gets nipped in the bud pretty quickly).
I expect to be contradicted, but ime Georgetown is pretty centrist overall. It also does not fit exactly in the US ‘liberal’ and ‘conservative’ paradigm, thanks to its Jesuit foundations. You will find admin, faculty and students who fit into either- or both! depending on the topic- categories.
Ime/o,no, but I am not a member of some of the groups you might be talking about, and one person’s feeling is different from anothers.
Overall, imo Georgetown is a good balanced college experience: contained campus feel, yet porus to a (really interesting!) urban center; strong academics with a genuine set of core values; comparatively diverse student body in some dimensions (less so in economic diversity).
