Georgetown econ vs. Georgetown business

How would you assess Georgetown's econ program versus McDonough, their business school? I realize that McDonough is easier to get into than the College, but I have no idea if the econ program within the college is any better than McDonough.

I'd regard them as very similar in term of recruiting opportunity. Both splendid options for you.

I'd go for McDonough.

i'd go for g-town econ.

hahahahaha

any reasons besides personal preferences for each programs curriculum? specifically in terms of factors like internship opportunities, recruiting, student body, faculty, prestige, etc.

all of those go to McDonough.

nuveen: ill choose econ in COL over McDonough.
But how abt international econ in SFS? you should consider it.IMO, it's better than both.

its just the fit for you, if u want to take a lot of business core classes, with sacrificng a lot of ur liberal arts opps, then go for that. if u want to explore diff majors, then college. i guess its not too hard to transfer between schools at gtown so yeah....i would choose mcdonough because i personally think that liberal arts classes are good in a way, but i like how i have to set of classes to take for business already.

yeah, just go where u belong.
My advice: don't think abt transfer in schools. (just my opinoin)

McDonough, and yes I'm freaking biased

The above one was just for laughs...

"McDonough is easier to get into than the College"

Check the stats on Georgetown's website, COL is slightly harder to get into, by I think 1-2% acceptance rate and the SAT/ranking are about the same... and I don't even want to go into SFS claiming to be "self-selective..." The differences are just not as noticeable as what they used to be...

Does McDonough have a major similar to Econ?

No, they don't. Pretty much is: Accounting, Finance, Marketing, IB, OPIM and a bunch of Management majors. I'm a sophomore in MSB by the way majoring in Finance and Accounting, and minoring in Math, so if you have any questions about the programs or the school or whatever, just reply or PM. Peace.
