I’m weighing Georgetown (just got in today!) and Smith. I’m in-state for UMD so it’s obviously MUCH cheaper but I’d live at home for either
Thoughts? I don’t want to share too much and sway opinion. What would you do?

Anyone willing to weigh in? My pros/cons are
Georgetown:
Pros: liberal arts curriculum (nice and well-rounded), small class sizes, (most likely) stronger alumni network, seems really invested in getting students jobs
Cons: $$$, would have to do more gen ed, $$$
MD:
Pros: cheap, would definitely finish in 2 years (with ease; could probably minor or even double major in an outside field), good reputation regionally
Cons: not as strong alum network, not as prestigious overall/less name recognition
UMD is a very good school, but they are really different. It is mostly you and your family who need to decide what makes sense. I do think living at home for Georgetown, at least freshman year, would take away some of the benefit.
Did you get in off the waitlist? For college?
If money is not an issue, then Georgetown in my opinion is by far the better choice (for all of the reasons you list, and more). I also agree with Daddio3; living off-campus, especially for freshman year, would not be the preferred route. Much of the freshman experience takes place outside of the classroom during evenings and weekends, and you should most definitely be a part of it!
I was jumping in with the same question! You were taken off the wait list? How were you notified?
check her previous threads. @sfgirl101 is a transfer applicant.
I was accepted flat out to both; I’m not on the wait list, never was
I was also a transfer applicant from a community college. Money is a consideration, definitely
