Gtown (SFS) or Duke for interntional relations or public policy?

You are in the G-town forum what do u expect people to say? Those are two different majors. What type of career are you looking for? Public policy deals with DOMESTIC affairs, internation relations deals with u guessed it international ones.

thats why i posted it on both forums

and essentially i was asking whats a stronger program IR at gtown or PP at duke, thanks for all your help though buddy.

If you got into IR at Georgetown, I wouldn't turn it down for Duke's PP program. But that's just me.

I'd say Duke.

Domestic or international its your choice? I personally would choose G-town SFS because I'm much more interested in international affairs and diplomacy than I am public policy. Maybe u like dealing with domestic issues more, I don't know, but the point shouldn't be which is better, but which fits your interests more.

Quoting my fellow Hoyas... "Phock Duke"

At the undergraduate level nothing even comes reasonably close to the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown for International Affairs.

Can the same be said about Duke's public policy program?

Copley I love Gtown and all, but if Gtown is far and away the best then why does Gourman rank it #4 for undergrad IR?

The Gourman Report. Please. You trust ratings compiled by a solitary college professor using an unpublished, scientifically suspect assessment system.

Just look empirically at the number of course offerings and number of faculty Georgetown has at the undergraduate level in the field. Like I've said, you'd need the next several schools combined to even come close.

Foreign Policy ranks the SFS Masters program number 2 behind Hopkins, and even the SFS acknowledges it is stronger as an undergraduate school, so you do the math.
