Is it easier to get into SFS Early Action or Regular Decision?
It’s actually seen as more difficult to be accepted to Georgetown in the EA round, because they state on their website and in information sessions that they only take kids early who they are certain they would take in the regular round. If you really want Georgetown, and your numerical stats hit the benchmarks shown by the Common Data Set, I would recommend applying early as it does show interest (since it is a non-common app school, and you have to get the app in by a november deadline).
My daughter was accepted to Georgetown EA last year. The EA acceptance rate was around 11%, versus the RD acceptance rate which was around 18% I believe. But applicants not accepted into EA are automatically deferred to the RD round. I agree with above poster that it cant hurt to show interest and apply early. Just don’t read too much into it if you are deferred, it doesn’t mean you don’t have a good shot at RD acceptance
