I know the app won’t come out till June, but anyone wanna toss around ideas? I’m not worried about the EC or Personal Essay. I’ve got hooks for both (NSLI-Y Scholar, also an African American Quadruplet). Since my NSLI-Y trip will take me to Morocco to learn Arabic (I’ll be majoring in International Relations, Economics, and have a minor in French and Arabic if I get in). As such, I want my third essay to tie into Arab culture, particularly the differences between Islam and Jihadist Extremism. I want to express the difference between the two and the importance of having a global community that understands said difference, as it will allow the world as a whole combat terrorism (in my opinion). Is this a viable topic/ argument? (I’m a junior, and will be a senior next year, btw)

I also would not try to write an essay tying into Arab culture until after you’ve already started your exchange.
Well, I’m going to answer the personal statement, the EC prompt, and the SFS prompt. And I’ll be going to Morocco for 6 weeks over the summer, so I’ll be able to write my essay in late August-Early September so I can be ready for EA.
