I wanted to know how tought G-town is to get into in comparision with other schools. I mean I understand that the credentials required are sub-Ivy, but would you put getting into Georgetown on par with getting into say...Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Notre Dame, and JHU? Or would you say it is tougher?

Well, it got lower admit rate but also lower test scores when compared to JHU and Northwestern. I'd say they are all pretty close to each other.

Georgetown
SAT verbal scores over 600 88%, SAT math scores over 600 88%, ACT scores over 24 91%, SAT verbal scores over 700 49%, SAT math scores over 700 48%, ACT scores over 30 57%

JHU
SAT verbal scores over 600 89%, SAT math scores over 600 93%, ACT scores over 24 94%, SAT verbal scores over 700 46%, SAT math scores over 700 61%, ACT scores over 30 54%

Northwestern
SAT verbal scores over 600 91%, SAT math scores over 600 94%, ACT scores over 24 97%, SAT verbal scores over 700 51%, SAT math scores over 700 63%, ACT scores over 30 68%

Vanderbilt
SAT verbal scores over 600 85%, SAT math scores over 600 89%, ACT scores over 24 94%, SAT verbal scores over 700 33%, SAT math scores over 700 45%, ACT scores over 30 50%

Notre Dame
SAT verbal scores over 600 86%, SAT math scores over 600 91%, ACT scores over 24 99%, SAT verbal scores over 700 44%, SAT math scores over 700 54%, ACT scores over 30 76%

rememeber it is not just about scores. also college is easier to get into than SFS. Also Georgetown is more difficult than some ivies. Cornell and UPenn

1536, thats a very common misconception.
the college is NOT easier to get into as compared to the SFS.
for the class of 2009, the acceptance rate for the college was lower than the rate for the SFS.
col, msb and sfs acceptance rates all hover around the 20-21% rate...

the acceptance rate was lower but more people apply to the college (a lot more)

I would say the credentials you need are sub-ivy or on par with the lower end of they ivy stats. But it's not ALL about test scores...Georgetown's are a little lower, yes, but the people here are AMAZING in terms of English being their second or third language, in terms of life experiences and involvement in things beyond the strictly scholastic arena.
