Georgetown Transfer Decisions

I just received my letter of admission today; it said that 200 out of 1450 transfer applicants were admitted. Anyone else get a decision yet?

garvey... what school did you apply to?

The title of this thread is Georgetown Transfer Decisions... perhaps that is a hint?? lol..

i know that you got into georgetown, but sfs college msb etc etc

Oh, the college, lol.

thanks... i am waiting to hear about sfs, that is why i asked

Way to go! Congrats :) Me SFS, still waiting...

You and me both Helen..Well..still waiting that is. :o I'm not SFS though, thank goodness..else I'd never get in!

LOL Nikki422 :D I am very antsy now!

Oh yeah. Congratulations Igarvey. :) Are you planning on enrolling?? What's your major?

Helen..I'm antsy on a regular basis..now I think I need vallium or some other sedative.. :D

Do you guys know if georgetown will require midterm grades?

Require? No. But, if you have them available, they're a good thing to send. I feel like they only request transcripts and such from this semester if you're borderline.

by any chance does it say when your decision was mailed out?...this is really nerve wracking...i applied to the college as well...oh and if you don't mind what was your SAT score? Yea comparing myself to other admits will ultimately drive me to insanity but I can't really help myself...

masta..apparently last year the same thing happened as this year..they started mailing a few decisions in early may and they continued to do so until june first...

are you serious??? I really don't think I can handle that...three rejections and i would just really like an acceptance, just one anywhere will do at this point (granted the anywhere consists of Harvard Stanford and Georgetown), but I just need the comfort of knowing that I have somewhere to go other than UMASS Amherst...because I'll be done with my AA in two weeks...with nowhere to go and I really don't like not knowing what I'll be doing for the next two years of my life. ( See the insanity is seeping through)

i'm guessing no new updates huh?

Hey man, what were your stats?

Masta, which CC are you going to? I was at Middlesex for some time, currently at UMass Amherst (and desperately trying to transfer out).

im at middlesex now...got into BU so i will def not be at Amherst, that was the worst possible scenerio because I really couldn't envision myself in a place where the only thing there is the school itself...and I can't really handle the cold...so I'm praying Georgetown works out...were you mainly in lowell or bedford?

It really is a small world afterall. Since I lived about a mile from the Lowell campus, most of my classes were there. Coincidentally, I have one cousin attending MCC (he's looking to transfer to Brown) and another at BU.

I empathize with you about ZooMass - though I have met a few exceptional students, the majority of the students here slack off. Class participation is seriously lacking to the point where I feel it's inhibiting my education. Alas, there are a few positives though: the Five-College Consortium experience has been awesome and the fact that I haven't spent a dime on my education thus far provides some comfort. I'm looking to transfer to NYU or Boston College myself.

Good luck with Georgetown! Of my MCC graduating class, I knew of people who were admitted to Tufts, Wellesley and Amherst College with stats that were marginally lower than yours so I think your chances are pretty good.
