Have any other transfers heard yet?

I just received some math awards last week so I submitted a "supplement to my transfer app" to update my admissions file. i hand-delivered it, as I currently attend American University nearby. The lady at the front desk said they just started making decisions, so people wont receive them until closer to June 1. I was surprised to read that mega already received his/hers. Has anyone else heard? well, I suppose no news is good news haha...keepin my fingers crossed.

June 1st?!?!?! I don't think I have the patience to wait that long. eek. Several College kids were already accepted though... I hope SFS is next.

What was your supplement like? Is there an official form to complete? I just wrote a letter talking about a few additional accomplishments and updating them on some activities. I'm so nervous to hear!

Tenacious...nope, no form. I just wrote a nice letter too. and yeah, tell me about it! It's hard to really focus on finals now that I know a decision could be arriving any day...yikes! I kinda wish they would just send out all the decisions at the same time...

Agreed. Its nice though, because I am still motivated to do well on my exams out of the off-chance that G-Town looks at my second semester grades (though they probably won't). What school are you currently at? I'm a freshman from Emory applying to the College.

Emory Univ in Atlanta, or the College in VA? I go to American University here in DC, and I too am a freshman looking to transfer into the College...ahh, so you're my competition! lol. I'm kinda nervous because green said he/she knows several people who already got accepted to College...although I did put my home address in california on the app, so it will probably take a bit longer to arrive. oh well, we'll keep hoping, and maybe I'll see next year! haha

my brother got into Gtown college FLL today. He is majoring in Arabic, and is studying hebrw and arabic in Israel right now. Im so happy for him!!! hell be a junior next year, and he transfered from NYU with about 3.8 GPA and 1360 SAT.... now were going to be classmates cuz i got into SFS this year

Emory University in Atlanta. Mmcboy2, what is FLL? Ckdunton, i've checked several different threads, and it still seems like only a handful of people have heard already. I wouldn't worry. Just wondering, do you not like AU? I am from the DC area actually.

Oh...that's a good school! why are you transferring? to be closer to home? and to answer your question...I love DC and I really like American too. It's just that sometimes I feel like the people here aren't as driven as the ones at GU. I've just really been impressed with everyone I've met at GU, and I like the balance between the challenging academic environment, and strong school spirit. I love the campus too! The only thing I don't like about GU is that there's no Greek life. but yeah, i like american, it's just not really a challenge for me, and GU really does seem like a perfect fit so I figured I'f give it a shot. I guess I can say that I won't be too sad if I don't get in...at least I'd still be in DC at a fairly decent school. What made you decide to head to Atlanta?

For one thing, I originally intended to do business, and Emory's Goizuieta Business School is one of the best. That changed as soon as I took my first poli sci class. Haha. Emory's Poli Sci Program is good, but is not one of its specialties in the way that it is at Georgetown. It also would be nice to be closer to home, and to go to a school that is situated in a great city like D.C. To be honest, I'm not sure why I didn't apply to Georgetown in the first place...

i'm a transfer who just got into the college. i heard back on monday and have lost all motivation to do schoolwork... trying to maintain motivation on page 20 on a term paper is harrrdd woorkkkk....

i heard back from MSB today and I got in.

i forget my stats, something like a 1360 i think i had a 3.8 in high school and a 3.71 in college (nescac). my hallmate at school, timberland, got into the college ... he had a 2350 and a 4.0 here at school ...

I am a sophomore in the Stern School of Business at NYU and I just got my acceptance letter yesterday for transfer to Georgetown. I know it was supposed to be June 1 so I am a little suprised and I am still waiting to here back from other places. Good luck to everyone though.

Congratulations, seo228. I saw in another thread that you are currently abroad in London. How are you liking it?

I tried to make this a PM Tenacious J, but your PM box is filled up. London is great...beats NYU (but definitely not NYC). I also had to the chance to go to about 10 counrties so I would definitely recommend study abroad. I was recruited to NYU for basketball and played until I came to London in the spring...You go to Emory right? I thought Emory was goregous, and the weather great when we played there last year...but I have had 3 friends transfer out, so I guess there is more to it than it seems, lol. NYU is awful, Stern might be the most overrated institution, and I think it will go down in college ratings in the next few years because the administration has no idea what they are doing. The only reason it is good to go there is bc your in NYC. Good Luck with everything.

seo228 --what is so bad about stern? most kids that go there or have graduated from there have given me the impression that you are set after leaving that school, i am going there fall 06 and i would like to know that negatives of it

I got accepted to MSB on May 5th. I didn't have really good stats. ACT 29, College GPA after only 1 semester 3.606. HS 3.46 / 3.8585 (weighted). I was really shocked that I got in. After March I wasn't even planning on transfering anywhere, but know I have no idea what I am going to do.
