Georgetown Transfer Questions

Hey don't leave me out I was accepted to MSB as well :)

I'm waiting to see how many of my credits will transfer now though

Do you think less people have heard from the College than MSB? Or is the sampling on CC just skewed that way?

I think more people heard about the College than the MSB. CONGRATS macheesh. Btw: macheesh, how do u like GW, I applied there too.

Addy189, did u get accepted anywhere, and what school at GTOWN did u apply to?

Socially, I'm in love with GWU. The people here are generally friendly, diverse (from snobby preps to dirty hippies and everything good in between), and have goals in mind. However, GWU's faculty and administration leave something to be desired, at least in the business school. Which major are you applying for?

I applied to the College but they lost my app so I had to fax it in a couple of weeks ago. I won't be hearing until the end of may probably.

For all of those who are accepted there is now a facebook group. Search "Georgetown Transfer" and a single group should show and thats it.

I was accepted. I got my letter yestarday. Postmarked on the 10th. The date on the letter was the 9th. College. Arabic. I mailed my app off the week it was due. No interview. I am a very nontraditional applicant. I live in MO. I am waiting for the financial aide letter as well as transfer credit letter. I will definately be attending.

Good luck to you all. I am so happy. I really really did not think I would get in. The envelope was thicker and I stared at it for an eternity before opening it. I saw what looked like an adressed envelope through the outer envelope which gave me confidence to open. It was pretty awesome. --sara

sara...congrats~!!...did you get a big envelope?...

How can they determine the transfer credits without a person's final transcript? I am not sure how the system works.

you send them a final transcript sometime in june after you are accepted.

for all those anxious internationals:

got into msb. postmarked 5/10, small envelope, to asia, sent app a week before deadline

first year transfer from top private college

zangetsu..congratulation..!!...could you tell us your stat?...

jeez, what was the magic word for those of you who called to get decisions or info? I just rang up and inquired if anyone could tell me the status of my application, and the lady rather flatly said no, and again gave the June 1st date. gaaghh!

It was a small envelope, but it had heft. The postage was 63 cents.

I would imagine that this May 10th postmark wave would hit the west coast today, so good luck to you all!

I live in Virginia and still no envelope either way...

Pinkdillo, what's your status? When you called back what did you say? I hope being under review is good news. Did you talk to the same person?

I am applying as a junior-- how hard will they look at my high school stats and SATs? Any idea?

Do you think they will hold their decision on my application until my spring grades are in? I aced my first and second semester of my sophmore year.

I held my own in my freshmen year-- but came to realize I did not want to be an engineer-- once I changed to philosophy I made the dean's list for 2 semesters.

Braird, whats ur stats and whats school are u applying to at GU?

hey smile.. I called back a few days ago and they seem to be getting more stingy on the phone, the lady said just wait until June 1 and that there are still applications in committee. are you thinking about GWU? I really want to go there if I don't get into Georgetown but the parents are not going to let me take on $30,000 in loans when I could have half that at UT Austin where I am now. :( I didn't think it was THAT unreasonable to pay a little more to be where I wanted to be! Ugh.

Pinkdillo, TRY around $45,000-$50,000 and Georgetown is not that far away from it so...are you going to go if ur accepted???
I believe VERY FEW people have heard about the decesions and so GU still has many decisions to make within the next two weeks. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!
