Just checked the USPS Informed Delivery page and nothing from Georgetown is coming today in the Bay Area, Cali. Shoot! I can’t handle this waiting. Although I know I’m gonna get deferred.
Has anyone in Michigan received their letter?
Deferred in Georgia :-(. 46 cents.
34 ACT
3 Subject tests submitted
8 APs mostly 5s, a few 4s
Disappointing but keep the faith!
Deferred in CA. Sigh…was hoping for better news.
Where in CA?
@justliviglife I am under the impression that AP scores can be self-reported on an app and accordingly a student might choose not to report all of them. However, sending official AP scores from the College Board might result in the score report landing in some college office (e.g. registrar?) other than admissions so that the scores can later be taken into account for placement/course registration purposes. If that’s the case, I wonder whether admissions sees AP scores at all if they were sent from CB but not self-reported. (I have not seen the Georgetown app.)
Typically, students would just send the official score report when they take senior year APs, only to the one school they are planning on attending.
deferred in CA
Got my letter in upstate NY…
Deferred
1510 SAT
SAT II: 800 WH, 760 Math II, 740 Physics
97.72/100 UWGPA, 6/241 Rank
Great Interview, Sold Essays… I thought
Orange County…to be honest, my numbers were solid but not “rockstar”. Had a great interview, EC’s, alumni support been to Georgetown for two summers (institute programs), so the deferment is probably “expected” but thought I had a chance with EA. You?
Austin, Texas. Deferred. Surprised those in north Texas haven’t gotten theirs yet. Not exemplary grades or SAT, but above average. Was really counting on my study abroad year but who knows. We end up where we’re supposed to lol
deferred in Chicago suburbs
1510 SAT
tons of ECs, 4 leadership positions, and founder of a junior board
SAT II: Math II 720, Lit 690, USH 630
3.9 UW, 4.4 W
great interview and essays I thought
SO upset right now, Georgetown is my number one. Congrats to all who got in. Looks like I’ll be retaking subject tests and pulling out my grades this semester.
Has anyone gotten their letter in Bay Area yet? Nothing was in the mail today
@aa2022 Let me know if you manage to find subject tests somewhere. They removed the January test date, but I heard some states are still doing it.
@star11z where did you do your abroad year? I went to Switzerland
I kinda wish I had time to take two more sat2 but due to ecs I don’t ahh.
@rendr1 There’s not any until May now anyway so you’re good.
@DavidHopkins thanks for your kind words
^i see. Anyways hopefully rd will go well.
@justliviglife Shoot, I just realized that. Why did they cancel all of them until May?
completely random tangent but does anybody know if the George Washington Honors college is at all comparable to the academic level of Georgetown? I kinda applied to it on a whim because I wanted another university in D.C. since I knew Georgetown is hard to get into. I have a bunch of other schools I am applying to (UVA, William and Mary, UMD College Park, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, UChicago, and VT), but I am sure since I was deferred at Georgetown I won’t be getting into Harvard, Johns Hopkins, or UChicago. Unfortunately, GWU is my only realistic shot at an urban campus. Is it worth going there (assuming I get into honors), or should I stick to my other schools, even though Charlottesville, Williamsburg, and College Park aren’t urban like D.C?
