Georgetown University Regular Decision Class of 2019 Thread

@seoulbound on the apply web site? I don’t think decisions will be there, because I have used apply web to apply for other things and the decisions for the other things came in my email. oh well we shall wait and see then. good luck everyone x:

@nervousfreshie‌ I just went into the ea pages and looked through the posts  you’ll get an email  I just didn’t know if it took you to some online site or if it’s right there. You’ll find out in the email I guess! Good luck! I’m visiting next week but idk if I’m going  but it’s still a consideration for me!

Anybody get rejected from UCLA? Kind of makes me nervous about Georgetown…

@seoulbound have fun on your visit! I really hope I can get in… many of my mom’s friends all got in and they say gtown is the best!

Also, does anybody have a ballpark guess about when letters will come?

@islandofblue‌ usually they will do some sort of post when they mail decision… Then it is up to the postal service to see how long it takes to get to your house. Everyone should find out April 1st, plus or minus a few days

@islandofblue‌ I got waitlisted at UCLA in state. At least for SFS, the acceptance rate is about half a percent less, BUT less people apply. Hopefully it works out for us.

@JoeGoe I applied Poli Sci. Good luck!

Does anybody know how I can change my mailing address?

International students get emailed their decision usually right after they mail the decisions to everyone else. You get a PDF of the letter you will eventually receive in the snail mail.

I am international and I was deferred EA, so I think they will follow the same process for the RD round.

To change your mailing address I think I would call the office at this point because they might be getting their letters ready as we speak.

@islandofblue I got waitlisted by UCLA in state.

This is random, but does anyone know anything about Georgetown’s debate team? I do parliamentary in HS and I’m pretty good at it, but there’s no way I would switch to policy. Would it be possible to start a parli team there?

I’m sure they probably have one, if not I’m sure they’d be up to start one with the right students. Their MUN and Debate teams are stellar from what I hear, so I doubt they wouldn’t have a parti team to compete.

I Googled and found this … https://hoyalink.georgetown.edu/organization/guparli/about

from what i’ve picked up on this forum decisions will be mailed the week of April 1st??

I’m thinking we’ll receive news through the mail around the end of this week. By April 1st all mailed decisions should be received. So my bet is they won’t mess with the weekend screwing up the mail and we’ll get them Thurs or Fri this week… But it’s just an inference.

I was deferred from EA but students who got admitted received a phone call. Letters in CA took over 10 days so you may get a phone call before the letter.

Acceptances/rejections both come in a regular sized envelope, except the acceptance one has one extra different-colored paper about housing I think. I was deferred from EA so I’m pretty sure I’ll end up being rejected.

Accepted OOS at U.Va though

I haven’t received any emails or any
sort of communication from Georgetown since I applied. Is this normal…?
