I have to agree with theperfect10

Thank you for your reply :) I am admitted to the graduate program. Can you elaborate more on the program:)
The concentrations of Fall 2008 are a bit different from spring 2008, but it seems that the courses are mostly the same, they just broke the the courses in different fields. Just one concern that the concentrations seems to be a bit military-oriented, as an international student, would it suit me if I would like to work in NGO's or private sectors as my career goal?

PS: Just a minor thing, that GT grad tuition is just more expensive than GW though :P

So...in all honesty, you Georgetown students DON'T look down on us GWU kids? I just transferred here and I am grateful to be here, but if you want you can be completely honest in the safe anonymity of the internet.

I mean, it's nice to know you Gtown kids don't think ALL of us are drunken, spoiled partyers. I fully admit Gtown is better than GWU is some aspects, but I don't want to be thought of as less intelligent or intellectual if I ever run into someone from Georgetown.

I guess I'm just really insecure....

Hehe, just the other day I went with another friend from gtown down to GW to see a mutual friend and some of her friends. I always thought the rivalry was a joke. It's not a joke to them. We were introduced to the room with "hey guys, it's those guys fro the school you got rejected from." At another point she asked who in the room was rejected from Gtown. 7 of the 8 people in the room raised their hand (the 8th never applied). Now granted, a lot of it was in good fun, but I was surprised at how big a deal they took it as. If you want to avoid kids with an inferiority complex, it should be GW you avoid, no Georgetown.

Hands down, G'town is the better school from a purely academics/selectivity/prestige point of view. That's not to say it'd be a better fit.

G'town is less liberal than GW
G'town is quasi-suburban, GW is in the middle of downtown
GW has an ultramodern campus, big dorms; G'town has an old, cluttered, campus (more character, for sure) and smaller dorms that are connected by a rooftop/catwalk system that's really quite awesome.

Hi guys,

I have also applied to graduate school at both Georgetown's Security Studies Program (SSP) and George Washington's Security Polices Studies (SPS) program.

I have since been accepted to attend GWU in January 2009 and I'm still waiting to hear from Georgetown. I am also curious as dzleprechaun is about his concerns of concentrations offered regarding future employment with NGOs, etc.

I was hoping some people might be able to offer some pros and cons between the two programs so that I may be able to make the best choice for my situation.

Thank you so much guys.

why is this even a question? hoyaaaaaas

Hey, in terms of Business (Accounting, finance, or somewhere in that area), which is better?

You should start a new thread, rather than revive a five year old one
