What are my chances?

EC is quite good, have tonnes of Model United Nations Experience, Including Thimun and being President of The Security Council (and Founder) in our local Conference which involved 350 Students from around the world.

And others.

I also have other EC activities in other fields. Many activities including the CAS- Creativity Action Service types. Im generally good in the EC criteria.

My GPA is around 3.4, I think thats how it is unweighted.

Grade 9- 3.2 Approx
Grade 10- 3.1 Approx
Grade 11- 3.8 Approx

Can Model United Nations be a major plus?

I have participated in the following-positions:-

Amman Model United Nations 2004- President of the Security Council

Not planning on retaking the SAT. Already sent scores and everything.

What are my chances at Tech, I know I posted this before but I want replies before I hear the decision to brace myself for the response.

Thanks.

um I think you'll be okay even though your GPA is a little low....are you a junior?
Isn't their acceptance rate like 50%? Yeah you'll be fine

You already did this!

Be optimistic, as I had told you. If you don't get in, hey, that's okay! I assume you covered yourself by applying to other colleges you'd really enjoy to go to.

You can't lose! In the end, you are the 1 percent of the world's population that can afford to go to college, relish it!

Personally I think you'd be in, but since you used the words "brace [yourself]", I'm telling you it's not the end if you DO not get in.

I'd say 70% chance you get in.

Thanks, but two other people applied to my school,

1) 1260 (640M,620V) 3.6GPA
2) 1330 (750M,580V) 3.8GPA

Do I still stand a chance?

Yes, you have a chance. 70 percent was flattery, more realistically a half and half chance.

Flip a coin.

50/50

Tough odds. Well lets hope the standards this year are lower than usual.

Anyone else?

I just found this: -

Subject: Taking advanced high school classes

Yes. Advanced level courses will better prepare you take college level courses. Also Georgia Tech recalculates all students’ grades on a 4.0 GPA scale and gives extra weight to any course designated on the transcript as Honors, AP, or IB. An extra 0.5 is added to any Honors, AP, or IB classes GPA.

So I think That boosts me up atleast (if they only count highers) to a 3.65 and if they count everything a 3.9.
