ACT tests are usually held only once a month, so they just say September 1st, 2015. This means that the score is from the Sept. 2015 test date. It says the same thing on mine too. I think that it says the same for everyone else too. Also, has everyone’s status on buzzport say that their file is under review? Mine just says “No decision has been made.”
No, mines says that no decision has been made-thats just that they haven’t started looking through the pool of applications that consists with your application. It also might mean that you are missing something. Otherwise, it just that they haven’t gotten to ur application.
Status here is “under review”.
@anotherdude Where can I find my GTid?
@sunbeams , yes we all get our decision on Jan 9. What tech does, like all colleges, is that it selects a handful of applications to review. This is when ur status changes to “under review”. Meanwhile, other applicants might have “no decision has been made” because their application wasn’t in the first pool. (note that not being in the first pool has nothing to do with decisions, Its just easier for tech to select a certain number of applications at a time). Then, the college will make sure that the application is fully complete. If it is, it will continue with the process. Otherwise, it will put your application back into the pool of other applications and you will be chosen in the next round and the process is repeated. IF you have a completed application, then admission counselors will evaluate and make a decision. (this obvious takes time depending on where your application is in the pile). Once a decision is made, your status will change to “decision made”. But it will NOT tell you what the decision is. This is done for every single applicant and once all applications have a decision, depending when this, tech will either release decisions early or might just wait to release it on Jan 9…or worst case scenario -they will postpone the date(assuming they don’t review all applications on time)
Mine says under review.
@MITftw you can find that in your portal, once you click on the ‘View Application’ or some similar button (at the bottom left corner, right under your status)
That will be the hardest wait when we see “decision made” but do not know what the decision is! Oh my!
Haha, yeah
So just to clarify, if it says “Missing & Not Required for Decision” for the college transcript, that’s ok right? They won’t automatically defer me because I didn’t send in the college transcript (the college course isn’t even done until the end of this semester).
Hey guys!
I applied 5 days before the deadline and mine says under review already…any reason my app might be in the first pool? I’m a ga applicant, female, and minority…
college transcript is not required for this type of decision because you’re a freshman applicant. It is still there though because the screen is the same for everyone and transfer applicants need to have that for their decision
@ismitah I applied a day before the deadline and my portal says ‘File under review’ Pretty sure it means nothing other than the fact that we were lucky enough that our files were processed quickly.
International applicant, male, not a minority… lol if at all it matters
I’m under review as well! White male from FL.
@realemmasmith , its not required. But once your college transcripts are available, I would send it to them because it might look like you just put the college there for the sake of it and didn’t actually do anything.
@ismitah , you probably are anon the first set of applications to be reviewed. But that does not mean anything. Its not an advantage of any sort. Like @anotherdude said, you were just lucky to be among the first to be reviewed. Honestly I do not know how they choose which applications go first for review…it might be a draw out of the hat or something like international and put of state first. You never know…there might not be any significance whatsoever.
Please dont think that being reviewed first is a sign of admittance…its not. Your application was just chosen somehow to be reviewed.
@Xboxgamergirl I will definitely send them eventually, but I just want to know that I won’t be automatically early deferred bc of college transcripts.
I think i read some where that they will accept documents until Dec 1st. I suggest sending in your college transcripts as soon as they are made available. And to keep the admission counselor in charge of your region in the loop.
December 1st is correct.
Yes, the Dec 1 deadline is for document deadlines, but in case of college transcripts-they r not required and you can submit them once they are available. My college classes end Dec 15ish…so I have already talked to gtech and they have said that I can turn them when I receive them, regardless of the Dec 1st deadline.
Now @realemmasmith , I have told gtech my circumstance. I request that you call them and just let them know about yourself so they have a heads up…and who knows, maybe they will give you advise on how to approach it.
But if you don’t submit it, they might simply verify with the college you took your classes at.
How much time does it take to review one’s app? I thought that it was like 20-30 minutes, but my buzz port is showing ‘File Under Review’ since the past 5 days O_o
@anotherdude , its gonna be like that for a long time. They aren’t gonna update your decision right when they finish looking through your application. That takes too much time. They will somehow specialize the task. Maybe they will finish looking at the set of first round applications and then change the status. Maybe your towards the middle or bottom of the pile of first round applicants, so its gonna take time to get there. They might also put in ur decision, but save it in a lock mode where it wont be released till later(like maybe Jan 9). So when they review they might enter in the decision, and after they are done looking through all applications and lock decisions in, they will release the status change. Your decision might even be in by now
