Got an email this morning with this heading- “Early Action Decision Release Information”- basically saying that apps which were complete by Dec 1st will have a decision released to them on 9th January.
Yes, I got the “decision date notification” e-mail too.
What’s the point of submitting the FA forms before 1/9? Isn’t it a waste of time (and money) if you end up getting rejected?
@glasshours , what @sunbeams did was probably just filling out that form, I dont think it had anything to do with money. I think its the basic “get yourself and your documents ready” type thing. Also, that time will be spent on any college anyways-so its not really a waste of time. Its like gathering all the materials ahead of time.
does anyone know why some people’s ACT on buzz port show math/english/english+writing while others have all 5 sections (including writing)
@Xboxgamergirl well not every college needs a CSS profile and it costs money to fill it out and a fee per school to send it to.
While it doesn’t take a whole lot of time, it does require some digging for docs and stuff.
Oh, okay…then idk
@ismitah @Xboxgamergirl We just fill out the form about applying for scholarships and FA. Just like xboxgamergirk said, getting things started. We won’t submit CSS until accepted. That will cost $. Will do FAFSA in January since that pertains to all schools.
Can someone please chance me?

Community Service: a little over 100 hours volunteering at a local elementary school and doing math tutoring after school.
I certainly am in the mid 50 percentiles, according to the freshman profile but I am out of state (FL) and am worried. I applied to really hard schools. GT is probably my second easiest application. My only safety is UF and I don’t want to go there.
@Nolesemigd , cant say anything since I’m a student myself, but I sure do.hope that you get in with that resume cause mines not that different from yours. And , wow, you do OO? I did that for my speech team as well, its the best thing ever!!
Just a thought… I think I might post a “chance me” thread as well on Cc. But I feel like the only person who will respond is @Hermit9. The two times I asked ppl to chance me, he was the only one to respond. Oh, well…we’ll see. (sorry, just needed to say that)
I appreciate the response. I would rate u but I honestly have no idea myself. Just about everyone but hermit is as clueless as us I guess. Also, I only do OO part time. My primary event is PF. OO is definitely my favorite speech event though.
@Nolesemigd I think you have a good chance even for OOS. Your 2 score is solid, GPA great, and ECs great. AP scores are the best partof your app imo.
I think you have a good shot, too, @Nolesemigd! And what’s wrong with UF?
@SouthFloridaMom9 don’t get me wrong UF is not a bad school, and it is the best in the state in terms of engineering, but it isn’t really an elite school. I know several classmates who go there, and I know I have better grades and scores compared to them. I feel like I would just be letting myself down if I went to UF. Plus I have been a lifelong Seminoles fan.
FSU decisions came out last night! :-bd
Anyway, if I were in your shoes I’d feel pretty good about GT - not a slam-dunk but optimistic. At least you have a good back-up in UF.
Oh, and thank you @SouthFloridaMom9 and @Hermit9 for the feedback. This is a nice confidence booster. Thank you so much!
Only about a month to go!! Super excited to see GT results (and hopefully a scholarship opportunity :)) )
Can anyone tell me my chances? I’m still a junior but I will probably apply EA next year for comp sci
