^^ha ha no special meaning to “9”, though I always use multiples of “3”. Seriously, 99% of the uniforms that either of my sons have ever worn (and there have been many through the years) contain a number that is a multiple of 3. Cool little factoid. 
Anyway, so glad you’re still in the game! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

I’m currently an instate junior in high school, and GT is my top choice. There’s no other college I really want to go to. It’s kinda scary seeing that people with 2350’s are being denied acceptance. I hope being a female (well, asian female nevertheless) will help me.

@Xboxgamergirl Glad to see you’re back!! Sorry about the deferral. Did they really see you at Tech today??? You’re persistent and a little crazy! Haha! Who’d you ask for a referral? My sons teacher(Dr. Braun) never received any of the email requests from the college websites. South’s firewall/security blocked the requests from getting to the teacher’s email,we really had to work around that problem. You’ve got a good attitude and it sounds like you’ve got it all figured out!!
@Hermit9 Forsyth County is a suburb of Atlanta, outside the perimeter and off of 400. South Forsyth HS is not the prettiest campus at all. It was the first middle school in the county, turned high school for some 2500+ students now. It’s the only school in the county with an IB program. It’s currently going under some major reconstruction, but still remains the top school in the county. Our area is quite congested and is growing as we speak because of South. It’s still not a city, so thats going to be an eye-opener for my son.

Quick nit picky question to throw out there, I got deferred and I just started working on the DSF: Do y’all think GT would mind if I created a bulleted list for the “updates” section? In paragraph form, the thing goes way over the 1500 character max.
Accepted OOS! 2220 (740 740 740) SAT, loads of extracurriculars and some district and regional awards but nothing incredible. Very tough courseload, GPA ~4.1-4.3 I’m very excited to get into Georgia Tech! I got deffered from MIT, been accepted a couple of my safety school’s but this is the first one I was worrying about that I’ve gotten a decision from.
@Xboxgamergirl - sorry about deferral, sounds like you still have a great chance. I am curious to know why someone didn’t notice it was missing and at least inform you that it was not received. I also thought you could look on Buzzport to see what had or had nor been received. Also, sounds like they didn’t even review your application just pushed it to RD because it was not complete.
So after 12 hours of being devastated, I decided it was time to look ahead…

Tech was my number 1 so I was really disappointed at first (still am); I felt great about my chances especially after the average stats were released last night. But then again, I always felt like I was going to get deferred because, from what I heard, in the previous years very very few people that were not in DL Calc Senior year got in to Tech but oh well, no regrets! At least I have another chance.
And maybe the fact that I’m only taking 6 periods in my school, instead of the maximum 7, did not help but again, no regrets.
I have hope for March 12th and hey, if that doesn’t work out, I’m going to transfer from UGA or KSU and if that doesn’t work out, then maybe it just wasn’t meant to be.

@Xboxgamergirl, I’ve just been lurking here (I’m a mom), but was definitely following your story and was so interested in your outcome. Proud of you for going to the school and finding out what was up! That was brave, and sounds like the problem is easily fixed for regular decision.
@SouthFloridaMom9, we are homeschoolers too, and I am sorry about your son’s decision. I know he will end up at just the right place for him. I remember when my '13 grad was applying, her one rejection was from the school she really wanted to attend and thought she could get into. However, all was well in the end, because truly her current school is so much better suited for her. Things do tend to work out the way they are supposed to work out.
(It’s hard not to take the rejection personally though as a mom, after all the heart and soul of homeschooling!)
