***Georgia Tech Class of 2020 Regular Decision Applicant Thread***

@WineDrinker I’m sorry to hear that. It’s really unpredictable. I heard from a student who was accepted at MIT EA but was waitlisted at GA Tech…

Waitlist xD

accepted!

Does anyone know the statistics for RD?

@isabelringing Congrats!! I remember you from the Olin page- I hope we receive good news from there too :slight_smile:

I was deferred and then accepted. I don’t really know how it works- the regular decision round for OOS seems to have a much lower acceptance rate.

ACCEPTED!! I think I am dying!! YAYAYA!!

"This year, applications hit a record high of 30,520 — a 12 percent increase over last year. Of that number, around 25 percent were offered admission (between early action and regular decision rounds).

The academic profile of accepted students continues to be more impressive each year. This year, the average SAT is 1445 (out of 1600), with 10 college-level courses completed.

The admission rate for in-state students is higher than the overall rate, at 35 percent, while international students were accepted at a rate of 10 percent. Students from 299 Georgia high schools are included in the admitted pool."

@ifizzle321

Georgia Tech is really different in admissions processes from other schools because Georgia has big state scholarship programs and other things to get Georgia kids in to colleges. It’s really great for Georgia kids but not so great for out of state. I’m so glad you got good news though!!

Denied! 31 ACT, 3.9 GPA, applying for CS, Out of state (missouri). Not too upset, congrats to everyone else!

Accepted Georgia Tech! Electrical Engineering :smiley:

@skywalker11 Georgia Tech’s acceptance rate is dropping every year. It now has even lower rate than University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. I am curious to see what will its rate be in several years.

Congratulations to all accepted applicants!

Accepted! So happy :slight_smile: Computer Science, Female, New York!

Accepted! Bio/Chem OOS female from Texas!

@skywalker11 thank you.

The acceptance rate dropped from 33% to 25%. I knew it would drop, but not this much.

Waitlisted.

Waitlisted

Conditional Admission 2017 through GT A&S pathway program, sigh (35 ACT 3.7 GPA 11 AP [not ap calc though]). Does anyone know how GT A&S pathway compares to waitlist? Could I not have been put on the waitlist for a small chance this year and also accepted into GT A&S pathway?

Posting for son…accepted !

Accepted!! OOS Female, Biomed

@skywalker11 can you send a link to where you found those statistics? Thanks.
