Ok I sort of answered this on another thread.:)

recalculate her gpa the tech way. meaning no art, music, health classes. They tell you which classes they count on the website and how to figure the gpa.

last years admitted class tech version of the gpa was a■Mid-50% GPA: 3.77 - 4.08

So if her recalculated gpa is in that range she has a good chance of getting in. There is someone else on this thread that had a good gpa but got a ‘C’ in a math class and they told her/him that’s why she/he got deferred. So if your DD had a ‘C’ in any class that may be why she got deferred too. Just a guess though…

Getting right down to business: GaTech is #2 in BioMed. The next one on your D’s list is San Diego, at #5. Your best bet is GaTech.

Weighted is relatively low, but good scores. I believe she will get in.

Good luck. Her stats look better than my sons, at least when I recalculate GPA based on GaTech’s definition. I thought he would really get in and was very surprised to learn about the deferral. Guess we will see what happens during the RD round.

GaTech computed GPA - 3.62
Highschool computer weighted GPA - 4.6
ACT - 35
SAT - 2140
SAT 1s - 800 - Math; 790 - Physics; 770- US History
Only 1 AP - US History - 5
This year 4 more APs
