Hello! I am a first-year second semester student. I will be applying to Georgia Tech this semester to attend in fall 2017. By the end of May I will have 31 college credits and 34 credits including AP. My major is computer science and I am a female. Right now I have a GPA of 3.92. All my teachers seem to be good so far, so I am hoping to make all A’s this semester and bump up my GPA a little bit. I am also in the honors program (I am not sure if that really makes a difference). I was wondering if you think I have a chance of getting in? I will be applying with all the recommend and required courses for a computer science major. I was also wanting to know if transfer admissions are more GPA based or do short answers still play a critical role in the process. Of course, I will still submit a short answer to the best of my writing ability, but overall what is usually the driving factor? Any input or advice is greatly appreciated! Thank You!
Hi, I’m currently a student at Georgia Tech whose thinking of transferring out, and I think you have a great chance of getting in. What major are you thinking? I think your college GPA is really good and probably what would get you in. Good luck and go for it.
Daisygal, Your GPA sounds solid to me and you meet the course requirements. I’m trying to transfer into computer science. Not all my classes are articulated - I have had to submit for a review of my classes so I hope they approve them. qwerty1023, why are you thinking of transferring out?
Hey querty1023! I am majoring in computer science, so I am really nervous about my chances since that is a very competitive field! Why are you planning on transferring out?
I feel like your chances might be REALY low since your credits don’t put you in junior standing. I guess they are looking for 60 and above. But hey, your GPA is high, that might compensate to the low credits, and apply and see what you get. Good luck!
My short answer was 3 lines long. So, thats definitely not the driving factor. BTW i got in
