Georgia Tech horror stories? Also GT vs Ohio State(computer science)

@IamStruggling Mizzou (not known for its engineering at all but it’d be completely free and I’d be at the top of the class pretty easily (i tried to say that in the least cocky way possible lol))

*subjective question (i wish editing were a thing ><)

@mogirl15 hm… How much would it cost you to go to Tech? For me, 44k a year is managable for our family (although it’s still quite a bit). I think the main thing to look at is what you will get out of college as in job prospects. The exceptionally high job placement of the computer science program is very attractive to me(97% with a starting salary of 85k). You go to college to get a job. That being said, it’s not as much about the college you go to. Rather, it’s more about how hard you work when you get there. In Georgia Tech’s environment, I believe that I would work harder than I would in Ohio State’s environment. But, I do know an EE major from Ohio State who is the head of the EE department at MIT. So, anything is possible.

@IamStruggling around 12k a year? it’s manageable for us, but still a bit much… (also considering i will have to travel between home and school for breaks and visiting)
well, i think regardless of which I pick I will be able to get a good job, but my issue is that I also plan on going to grad school afterwards which I’m afraid will depend on where I pick now (I’m worried that picking mizzou will give me less options than picking tech, though this isn’t necessarily true because my ‘position’ at each of these schools will be different).
Oh, i’m planning on going into MechE by the way, which tech is pretty stellar in while mizzou doesn’t have much of a rep.

@IamStruggling *actually around 18k a year (sorry, I always post too quickly lol)

@mogirl15 If I were in your position, I would 100% go to Georgia tech to be honest.
