Can you switch from a biology major to an industrial engineering major?

It is possible. ISYE though will have to approve the major change.
Thank you!
Also this past admissions cycle, all admitted freshman were allowed to change their major before fall semester started. The only restriction they were given was Music Technology which required an audition. I am not sure if that will continue for next year.
There are specific times at GaTech where you can change majors. If you transfer into Georgia Tech you cannot change you major but freshman can change their major once or maybe twice if you have a real reason to do so. It may take longer to earn a bachelors degree if you do change twice, but I know students who switched from biomedical engineering to chemical engineering, had to take an extra year, and take off a semester as they changed majors in the spring when they could not get part one of a year long thermodynamics sequence. Biology and industrial engineering will have little class overlap so it will waste money and time if you go in as a biology major and then change to industrial engineering. You may not be able to register for engineering classes given that industrial engineering is a somewhat big major and they limit registration to MAJORS, then minors then everyone else like biology majors. Its better to apply to Georgia Tech for the major you want. Industrial engineering is very mathematical so you might as well see if they believe you are a fit and apply to the major you actually want, and not biology if you don’t want to study biology.
