what if i apply to the bio program in the school of science but before joining i decide to do biomedical engineering at tech. is this possible?

It is extremely easy. At the freshman orientation program, FASET, representatives from the registrars office will be available to help you through that process should you have a revelation between when you apply and when you start in August. Suppose you even do a whole semester in bio and find it’s not for you, changing your major is as easy as going to your advisor and getting a few signatures on a form. You can change your major at any time, but it’s best to have an idea after maybe the first year so you don’t get too far behind. The bio program has very similar course work to the biomedical engineering program for the first year.

i heard it is “easier” to get into the sciences than engineering as a freshman applicant? is there any validly to that statement? Im a hs senior and thinking about applying to the science department but im OOS

Whoever you heard from that it was easier to get into the Sciences than Engineering was wrong. You are admitted to the university, not specific colleges, so in theory, all colleges are equally as hard to get into. At least, that is what the Undergrad Admissions Office tells us, but I trust that they are speaking the truth.

wait so do i need to declare or state my preferred major on the application? the thing is although i have taken challenging math classes my passion lies in the sciences and i dont want to be considered for the engineering school bc its sooooo competitive to get into. i want to admissions to know i want to do sciences. does what i said make sense? im sorry hah its just that im really confused
