Georgia Tech, UT Austin, or UIUC for BS in CS?

Computer Science =/= Computer Engineering

Haha It’s part of the Council of International Schools it’s off of Macomb street. Yeah i know where that is! haha I live in Georgetown; I was supposed to go to Woodrow Wilson HS

A rigorous academic curriculum including the Primary Years Program and the Middle Years Program of the International Baccalaureate Organisation leads to the International Baccalaureate Diploma program. Students graduate proficient in at least two languages; many are functionally or fully bilingual" – Definition of Curriculum

^very nice. I would die at that school haha, I could barely handle my three years of spanish, but fully bilingual? I could never handle that. sounds like a good school though, I’ve heard IB is pretty hard so gl

CS graduate ranking:

CS Undergrad ranking…

UIUC

UT-Austin

Georgia Tech

20 isn’t a bad ranking, when choosing between a #9 school and a #20 school.

hahaha Thank god I was bilingual all my life :)

roneil-

Yeah since you want to party, UT is THE place to be. There are so many parties. For example, on a Saturday night you’ll find people having fun all over town. People yelling from balconies and pouring alcohol down to people on the streets. Fun stuff like that. 6th street is were most of the older students party, its basically a long street full of bars and clubs.

Yeah I went to a high school were our football team won 3 games my whole time there LOL. Like I said before, UT is arguably the best sports school in America. It’s so much fun being able to say you have great teams with great fans.

And yeah, Austin is the “Live Music Capital of the World”. EVERY type of music. Tons of metal bands go there. Lots of indie music also. Austin City Limits and South By Southwest are 2 HUGE annual music festivals. Trust me on this, you’re favorite band is likely to play in Austin. If you look in google you should find areas where lots of metal bands play. A popular venue in Austin is “Emo’s”, all kinds of bands go there, I know for a fact that metal bands play there.

I’d say most of the music in Austin is indie. A lot of post-hardcore, alternative, metal, rock, etc. Just about everything. A couple months ago, my friend went to a Jay-z concert, so there’s hip hop too. So it’s not like its all indie music, popular bands come all the time too.

And another thing,

Rivalries: It’s also really cool to go to a school with intense rivalries. Oklahoma and Texas A&M are our biggest rivals. Most schools have rivals, but Texas-Oklahoma is one of colleges best rivalries, its rated as a top 5 rivalry by most people. It’s just really fun to hate a school lol, especially when you know your school’s better :)

Gaming: #1 best gaming college (<a href=“Gaming and Video Game News & Reviews | Engadget”>Gaming and Video Game News & Reviews | Engadget)

Seriously, everything about UT is superb!

Most schools have rivals, but Texas-Oklahoma is one of colleges best rivalries, its rated as a top 5 rivalry by most people.

Is there a ranking for rivalries? Who are in this ranking? These are my guesses…

Army vs. Navy
Bama vs. Auburn
Texas vs. Oklahoma
USC vs Notre Dame
Ohio vs Michigan

Anyone from GA Tech or UIUC want to chime in here? To me it sounds like the quality of life and culture at either of those schools couldn’t possibly match UTA, but I might be wrong.

“Is there a ranking for rivalries?”

Yeah just google “best college rivalries”. You’ll find:
Army-Navy
Michigan-OSU
Alabama-Auburn
Duke-UNC
Texas-Oklahoma
