Hey i got into biomedical engineering at GT.

i just wanted to know if GT's academics are really as hard as some people say?

and also is there a social life at georgia tech or are the people just geeky and studying all the time?

I’m thinking about going to GT for BME as well, among other schools. I’ve read from other CCers that there are parties. Some say you need to join a Frat/Sorority. Also, I’ve heard from numerous people that it is a “hellhole” and a “trap.”

But, I’ve read great things about students receiving a job upon graduation in BME.

I’m also wondering the same thing though. Does anyone have a social life?

Lol. Yes, you can have a social life, and you should! People who are involved tend to do better.

Your courses will be challenging, and you won’t be able to party every night, but as long as you can manage your time moderately well, you should have no issues doing well in school and maintaining a health life outside of academics. And you do not need to be Greek to have a social life. Most students are not Greek, and I can assure you we do not just all sit around being lame! Georgia Tech is a work hard, play hard kind of place.
