Georgia Tech's liberal & art

I want to major in Computer Science at GT. but, as you know, liberal & art is a essential part of college education and I've heard that GT has almost none of that.

I really like GT because of its CS program, but I also want to find a school with at least okay liberal and art courses...

and, by the way, how is the security in Atlanta? I've heard something negative about the crime rate.

[Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts](http://www.iac.gatech.edu/)

As for safety, GT is pretty safe campus. Because we’re in Atlanta, we have a very substantial campus police force, and campus safety receieves a ton of attention, so the police and administartion are constantly working on new ways to keep students safe, like the new Jacket Guardian program: [GT | Police Department - Jacket Guardian](http://www.police.gatech.edu/services/jacketguardian/)
Compared to our rural in-state rival, we do pretty well.

In 2010:
GT burglaries: on campus = 26, off-campus=16
UGA burglaries: on campus = 44, off-campus = 38

GT vehicle thefts: 12
UGA vehicle thefts: 26

GT assaults: 2
UGA assaults: 38

GT Weapons violations: 0
UGA weapons violations: 7

The Ivan Allen college has some pretty good programs. If you’re looking for a few classes or even a minor, it’s a great option. It wouldn’t be my first choice as a major school, though, unless I was interested in the intersection of liberal art and technology (for example, I wouldn’t go to GT to study public policy unless I was interested in the policy of digital communications / technology).

No body else???

by the way, what do you think is the advantage of GT compared to other schools with strong CS program like U of washington, UW-Madison or UIUC
