I'm currently in the 11th grade and wish to continue in Germany as soon as I finish it (To live there as well). I would like more information regarding what my options are. I would like to continue High School in Berlin. The language is not a problem.

I'm aware that I could also wait until I graduate and then go to Germany but I want to do it as soon as possible. I understand that there's an Abitur program in Germany that every student must complete in order to go to college there.

Who would you stay with?
If you had some one to live with in Berlin, you would have several choices as to schools. The best option is the John F. Kennedy School, a public school in Berlin, that offers both the American high school diploma and the Abitur, with classes taught in English and German. You would need to find a host family in Berlin and then see how you could attend the school. Also, if you intend to pursue the Abitur, you would likely have to repeat your 11th grade year, as your U.S. classes will not transfer into the Abitur system. The Abitur goes through 13th grade, so you would be spending an additional two years in high school.

Is that the only possible option? Staying with a host family? And the Abitur, is it the only option as well?

Well, if you want to study at the university level in Germany, you will have to have the Abitur. (You can apply as an international, but a U.S. high school diploma alone won't be enough to qualify). Without an Abitur, you would have to look at private universities. I think that there is one in Bremen?
If you want to continue high school there, the number one issue is what will your living arrangements be? You could go as an exchange student. Would you rent a place on your own? That won't be easy as a high school student. There are some boarding schools in Germany -- they are pricey, and I do not believe there are any in Berlin proper.
