"get A Life!"

doesn't it upset you when people tell you that?

I understand if someone tells you that because you're wasting time doing something unproductive and meaningless, but if someone tells you that just because you're taking summer courses, that seriously ****es me off.

I guess the point they're trying to make is that life is not all about school, get a social life, but seriously, EVERYONE knows that, at this point in life.

I can't believe how ignorant people can be sometimes

When something like that comes out of nowhere, its just idiotic jealousy. Ignore them.

I thought only valley girls and other assorted bimbos still used this as an insult...

Are you sure it wasn't just a joke? My friends say this all the time if I stay home for the weekend because of exams. They don't say it because they are mad or trying to make me feel bad.. just a joke. If they are trying to make you feel bad, well the joke is on then :P

Someone told you to get a life because you're taking summer classes? Wow. That is absolutely ridiculous.

They're just saying that because they feel insecure with their own level of stupidity and want to play it down by insulting the level of your intelligence. :]

haha I usually feel proud when someones jealous of me. Plus if someone says something about you that isn't true you should just laugh about it.

Obviously you have a life if you have friends who want you to come hang out.

I think perhaps they were correct if you so thin-skinned that it actually bothered you. It is in your best interest to realize that the majority of people you meet will be neither intelligent nor ambitious, and holding them up to a higher standard will only result in your own disappointment. You opted to take summer courses because it was in your best interest, not anybody else's. So stop giving weight to their unsolicited input.
