Get @duke.edu E-mail address now!

it says that we need a NetID; where do we find that? it's alphanumeric, so it can't be the ID number we got in our "we have received your deposit letter"

it's your simple-form email address (pc45)

So what was the password?

ahh i'm sorry this is all just confusing me.

Sorry for the late reply - it's whatever your Duke password is. To be honest, I do not know how they convey passwords to people these days... It's whatever lets you into your OIT acount.

Thanks! I called and they said we get our NetID and password "mid-May" just in case anyone was wondering.

Does everyone else get spam?

no? ...no spam for me... facebook was sending stuff but I just got facebook to send to a different addy.

I get spam everyday!!!

But a side question, if you change your e-mail alias, can you change it again? Like...what if you want a new one a different year?

Yes. I get double the spam because I'm on two Duke networks. :p

I've been getting crazy spam, yes. ):

When i first logged in, i already had 1500 messages of spam and it still comes in HOURLY. Anyone know whats the deal and how do i solve this?

Wow that's a lot of spam. Go to https://webacct.acpub.duke.edu/online/ and you can filter it. It works fairly well for me.

Wow... that's rather ridiculous for a never-opened mail box...

Thanks duke25, that filter works really well!

hmm... when I tried to send an email to my alias, it didn't work

but when I used my actual email address, it worked right away!

could someone help me out with this problem?

Wait, what do you mean by alias and actual email address?

musings - are you sure that the alias you think you have is the alias you have? If you want, I can check - PM me your NET ID and I can send you back what The System thinks is your alias
