Getting 1 on AP exam

Will colleges look at my app badly if I got a 1 on an AP exam?

Only if you report it ...

I was under impression that colleges got a copy of your AP scores when you sent them the SAT. Or is this not true? If thats not the case, then it will still look bad that I don't report a score for an AP class when I took the class right?

AP scores should not be a part of the college application, so you're ok(whew!) sending those scores now is a waste of money. now you can list, as your transcript will show the APs you've taken. that's all they're looking at during the application/ acceptance phase. later, you'll send the scores to the school you accept ,for AP credit. obviously, the 1 won't count, but won't hurt you either...just don't major in that subject! ;)

APs are sent differently, and are NOT a part of SAT reporting...that's why i said save your money!

As happycollegemom says - save your money. Most app's have a place to self-report your AP scores. Don't report a 1. AP scores are expensive to send. Typically, you only send them to your college are you are accepted and enrolled there. They are used for placement and credit if high enough.

How would a 1 be worse than no score at all?

assuming u took the aps at ur school they shud be on ur transcript, they are for mine with scores
