Getting a 30?

How difficult is it to get a 30 on the ACT and what tips do you recommend for improving your math score and overall score? (I currently go to tutoring 6 hours a week, 2 specifically for math, but i just started 3 weeks ago)

The next ACT is in April, do I have a shot of being able to get that type of score in so little time?

Current Split:

English 31
Critical Reading 31
Science 28
Math 24

Bumping this back up and also any tips for not running out of time in the science section?

Math is straightforward. I would review my concepts and make sure I remember how to do problems. Think of the Math section as yet another dull assignment to complete, not a test.

In addition, for science, if you already know about the concept they’re talking about, skip reading the intro paragraphs. For example, if you’ve taken physics, then skip the paragraph if you see a physics section.

Do you think I will be able to get my score to a 30 by April?

Most definitely. You’re so close already!

I was just going through my old posts and saw this one. I ended up getting a 31 so it all worked out :)

I got a 30 in 6th and 7th grade. Still waiting on 8th grade results.

6th: 36, 26, 33, 25
7th: 32, 29, 34, 26

I would suggest getting a variety of prep books: Princeton Review, Kaplan, and of course the Red Book. Math seems to be your weak point, so brush up on the Algebra, Geometry, and Trig concepts. For Science, practice by doing single passages (there are 7) in 4-5 minutes. A 30 composite is actually not too hard.
