getting a 5: AP Euro

I am using the Viault Modern European History book. How long does it take to get through the entire book? To successfully get a 5, how many times should I read it?

thank u

bump bumpity bump

my bro, who's in ap euro, does not have the book but right now is in WW2. His class is on track.
How many times you should read it?
Well you should read it and take notes or whatever your teacher says but reading it for review would not help imo. I think its better to go through notes, take practice tests, and watch the history channel.

thank you.. anyone that's familiar with the b ook?

I basically taught myself this course, and I never read the Viault book. My best suggestion is to read either A History of Western Society or The Western Heritage, and then to supplement the readings by using the Sparkchart that Sparknotes produces. It was as if the question on the exam were taken straight from the chart-- even the language used on the chart is identical in many ways to the language used on the exam!

bump please

Thanks for all that have replied so far. I will try the sparkchart. Could some people who have read the book by viault please comment? Thanks guys :]

You should start reading and stop waiting for a response.

Yeah, I've used the Viault book for my AP Euro class. My teacher recommended it. It's good for political history, but not so much for social/intellectual/cultural or economic issues. So it talks a lot more about what kings were ruling and about all the wars and important battles, but not so much about the differences between Protestantism and Catholicism.

How long does it take to get through the book? Depends on fast you read. You should use it to review. You can definitely finish it before the AP test if you start now.

Getting a 5 isn't a matter of how many times you read it. It's about how much you know about European History.

thanks guys so much :] @llpitch: haha yeah guess I should get started
